Texas begins installing buoy barrier along Rio Grande to deter migrant border crossings

Workers in Texas have begun installing a floating barrier along the Rio Grande in an effort to deter migrants from crossing the dangerous river to enter the US illegally.

“The buoys have arrived and the installation of the marine barrier on the Rio Grande begins today,” read a tweet posted by the Texas Department of Public Safety on Friday.

The first 1,000-foot section of interconnected 4-foot-wide sphere buoys – that spin when grabbed – is being installed near Eagle Pass, Texas, a hot spot for illegal border crossings.

The floating barrier is designed to be moved and extended to cover other parts of the Rio Grande if necessary, according to Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.

“New marine barrier installation on the Rio Grande begins today. Texas DPS is overseeing the project in Eagle Pass,” Abbott wrote on Twitter Friday.

The governor’s tweet included a video showing dozens of the bright orange buoys being taken off multiple flatbed trucks.

This new barrier is part of Operation Lone Star – a state border security effort launched by the governor in 2021.

The water-based barrier, designed by the company Cochrane USA, will cost the state $1 million, according to Texas Department of Public Safety director Steve McCraw.

The Mexican cartels are having immigrants draw straws to see who will drown as a result of the water barriers. Only women, children, and men who claim they are women need apply.
The MSM and the DOJ are gearing up to accuse and charge Abbott with murder.

Yes Abbott and other public officials will be charged with murder if somebody drowns in that river.

Even before that, I would not be shocked if an organization such as the ACLU files lawsuits over them taking that action.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - a couple of A-10 Warthogs would resolve this invasion very quickly, and with minimal enemy casualties.

Must use the quotation marks to show authenticity.

Florida is being overrun with alligators. Import alligators for the Rio Grande.

And throw in lots of Water Moccasins to add a little excitement to the crossing. Kind of like a Disneyland ride.

Biden (his puppet-masters, actually) will file a lawsuit, claiming that the federal government has exclusive authority over international borders. The lawsuit will succeed, and the barriers will be removed.

Perhaps then Texas could sell the barriers to Hungary. Hungary still take its borders seriously.

They haven’t charged Jo Jo the Demented Clown or Camela the word salad flunky with murder for all of the miggies who died trying to wade across the Rio Grande to take a free whack at the Los Estados Retardo’s Piñata Grande. Abbott and Texas are trying to save these dumbasses lives by keeping them out of the Rio Grande.

Asking for a friend.

Your friend asks a pertinent question, but at least TX seems to recognize and understand (as well as suffer from) the issue, much more than the corrupted Dems.

From a FR thread a few days ago about the border fence being placed way north of the border:

****
From the article: The individuals had already crossed the Rio Grande from Mexico, [and] were on U.S. soil...

If so, it is obvious "the fence" should have been placed ON the border so that it served as an effective barrier - most especially if that means the middle of the river. Placing the fence at any other location is a wasted effort and waste of taxpayer money, a continuing waste of border security assets and an intentional failure to defend our nation!

Rolls of razor wire anchored to the bottom at all wadeable crossing points would work, and cost less.

Long-range snipers. Arizona has a club of these guys.

Sudden death without a sound would be a strong deterrent with minimal loss of life.
