Gun reform advocates are appealing to all those affected by gun violence, including gun owners themselves, in a new PSA released by gun violence prevention nonprofit Brady United and the Ad Council.
Via a multimedia campaign and digital activation that mimics an incognito safe, seven people who contemplated taking their own life by a firearm make the potentially lifesaving case for proper gun storage and firearm safety — part of a broader mission to address record-high numbers of firearm deaths.
"A moment of crisis can happen to anyone," the PSA says. "Store your gun securely: locked, unloaded, and away from ammo." The personal stories live in a virtual "book safe", which also features information on safe gun storage methods and resources for those in a moment of crisis.
The campaign is part of End Family Fire (formerly known as ASK), a joint effort from Brady United and the Ad Council launched in August 2018 to bring gun owners into the conversation about preventable firearm deaths and responsible ownership. Coined by the two organizations, "family fire" refers to a shooting caused by someone having inappropriate access to a gun in the home

I’ll join. Do not put your finger inside the trigger guard if you are about to commit a crime.
Not reading this, but yes, let’s have a conversation about locking up criminals and mentally ill people.
Let’s have a conversation about black youth.
(good luck with that....)
Typical liberal “we need a dialogue” = you sit still and let us harangue you.
Stop and frisk....
My idea includes adding the death penalty for using a gun to perpetrate a violent crime
Being from an Amish-Mennonite background I would be willing to do a PSA.
In Chicago inner city on 2 occasions my life was saved by an illegal Mexican immigrant who pulled out his concealed Saturday night special and drove my attackers away.
Keep criminals in prison.
Keep criminals in prison.
They don’t want to listen to us on being tougher on violent criminals. Thats where the “preventable gun deaths” conversation needs to be steered.
Is the Cisco Kid a friend of yours?
Unless your MoC involves a heavy dose of peyote, quaaludes, or magic mushrooms, what's to keep you from opening a locked safe, and loading a gun?
1. Every gun is loaded. Never assume otherwise.
2. Keep your finger off the trigger unless and until you are prepared to fire.
3. Only point the muzzle of a weapon at something you are willing to destroy.
4. Always be sure of your target and what is beyond it.
See - that's not hard, is it? Thus endeth the discussion.
“Firearm deaths” are real preventable…
Don’t try to mess with anyone, don’t try to mug anyone, don’t try to carjack anyone, don’t break into someone else’s home, And you won’t get shot to death.
See how preventable that is? Pretty damn simple if he asked me…
I don’t really think they want a conversation. About two minutes and they’ll resort to insults and name calling. They’re not capable of reasonable discourse.
That should flip them right out.
I don’t know the Cisco Kid. Was he some famous movie star?
I did know a lot of illegals when I was in IL. Not so much now that I’m in GA. Here I see a lot casually when my wife and I go to Fresh Markey. But I don’t live with them, as I did in IL.... my ex-illegal wife excepted.
ABSOLUTELY——
THAT is the core of the problem.
Almost always, people carrying firearms prevent or dampen crime
Yes, there’s gonna be an occasional jerk or accident.
Most of the time, your having a car helps you get places.
Very occasionally, yes, a jerk gets behind a wheel or there’s sn accident.
Maybe we should grab everyone’s car? In fact we should de- car america first before trying to disarm America —- because cars “cause” a lot more accidents and injuries than firearms anyway.
Let’s all go Hotwire commies’ cars and tow them to the junk yard to be recycled into windmills
