Its called BLOAT
The US military has about forty-four 4-Star Generals.
Last time we had that rank density was April 1945, when we had four 5-stars and thirteen 4-stars. And that’s when 12 million men were under arms.
Of course, generals don’t fix submarines, but its indicative of a highly bloated, highly political, and needlessly expensive bureaucracy. The DoD is just another very expensive progressive/left jobs program.
Time to weed the garden
The USN counts:
117 one star admirals
64 two star admirals
32 three star admirals
10 four star admirals
That’s 219 flag officers for 290 combatant ships.
Yikes.
