That neighborhood has been sprayed 5 times already. Weird, and third-world worrisome for those of us who live close enough to know exactly where the neighborhood is. My morning routine now includes slathering on a layer of Picaridin (lasts up to 14 hours). Repeat at dusk if I need to go outside.
When I was at Homestead AFB, there was s storm that blew in some little Haitiian skeeters that were real bastards. We’d slather on the repellant, but it didn’t work well. If you leaned on a jet and left a sweat mark, the skeeters would land on that to investigate. It was in the ‘80s, so there were plenty of jokes about them carrying blood from gay Haitiian junkies.
