The “world community” expects Ukraine to have unencumbered access to world grain and other commodity markets, but also to boycott everything Russian.

The dumb, rotten bastards want their cake, and to eat it too.

I’m surprised Russia ever agreed to begin with. And I encourage them to destroy all port facilities and to put every ship transiting to/from Odessa at risk.

Yes, exactly. May it be so!

Good luck trying to enforce it, Vlad.

We should drill baby drill. And mine baby mine. And grow baby grow.

Instead of paying farmers to keep land fallow. Nor should we let Cheyna and depopulationists like Bill Gates buy a lot of farm land.

The Defence Ministry did not say what actions it might take.

I don’t know for sure what actions they are planning …

Ah, yes! Unrestricted naval warfare is a time tested tactic to pull the U.S. into direct conflict.

Is Russia going to make attacks in NATO member territorial waters? After the Moskva sinking and the retreat from Snake Island they haven’t exhibited any naval power projection in the Black Sea. They don’t have the capabilities to enforce a quarantine/inspection regime against the will of NATO members.

Do they try to get their diesel subs close to Odessa and try to sink grain shipments in Ukrainian waters? Not sure how well obviously fueling food scarcity will sit in the parts of the world unwilling to sanction Russia’s invasion, but otherwise indifferent.

This would be a good time to relocate some of those confiscated Russian oligarch yachts to Odessa.

Isn’t that what they said the last time around... Turkey stepped in then and escorted the ships.

The worst tragedy of all this is that Slavs are killing Slavs when instead, the world should be exterminating democrats and the Deep State.

The world will be a better place when the evil Biden regime is liquidated along with the GloboHomo Golden Calf puppet masters.

I too am surprised Russia ever trusted them. Bad faith Ukraine launched its marine drones from the humanitarian shipping corridor to attack the Kerch Strait Bridge. I expect Russia will now mine waters outside Odessa as well.

“the flag countries of such ships will be considered parties to the Ukrainian conflict”.

Hahaha, good luck with that. Russia can’t finish off Ukraine, they really think they are ready to drag more countries into it?

“I’m surprised Russia ever agreed to begin with...”

Russia agreed to the grain-export deal because they are stealing all the Ukrainian grain from the illegally annexed regions they took from Ukraine. Russia is exporting that Ukrainian grain as well! There is evidently a lot to gain economically for Russia when they act like pirates.

However, if they stop the grain transport deal, they are shooting themselves in the foot. They will not be able to export the grain they stole. Bad for Russia.

Russia seem to be spiraling down into the abyss of darkness further and further by the day.. to a moment where Russia will be unrecoverable. They would have reached the event horizon.

The Fellas: But but but
The Bosphorous Straits! The Montreux Convention! The Turkish Navy!

Russia has been preparing to dominate the Black Sea since reincorporating Crimea. They would not go into this blockade without expecting to prevail.

Do you not realize the Russians can and are building new and refurbishing older ships in their territory inside the Black Sea littoral?

Ukraine: Russia increases combat ready warships in Black Sea, adds 2 Kaliber carriers

Plans to add these LHD’s in 2026/7

https://www.navalnews.com/naval-news/2020/08/russias-project-23900-lhd-to-be-able-to-operate-in-the-arctic/

Fleet expansion began after Crimea was annexed

According to the Russian state weapons program designed until 2027, fourteen warships intended for Russia’s Black Sea Fleet were laid down at Crimean shipyards in 2016–2020, including Karakurt-class cruise missile corvettes, modular patrol ships, and perhaps most notably, two 40,000-ton Project 23900 helicopter-carrier amphibious assault ships (LHD).

LHDs are unique in naval warfare because they have an unparalleled capability to carry out surprise, blitzkrieg amphibious missions as well as perform fleet command-and-control (C2) management—a capability Russia lacks in the Black Sea since the sinking of the fleet’s capital ship, Moskva, back in April.

At the same time, they can operate beyond the reach of coastal artillery and even some missile systems. In the Black Sea or the Mediterranean, those capabilities can significantly change the regional balance of forces by giving Russia more military options than it has had until now. They will dramatically enhance Russia’s power projection capabilities and decrease the time window for amphibious operations from several days down to hours.
