Zoning codes must allow for more high-rise development, and building codes (especially in congested, urban areas) must describe only essential safety requirements. With a few reforms, and a bunch more modern, secure, high-rise apartment buildings in our major cities, we’ll not only see more affordable housing but citizens kept safer against criminals, as well.

If that were true, the safest places in America would be the center cities. In reality, small towns and countrysides are far safer.

Here in southern California it is $2,000+ plus utilities like electric for a 700sq/ft 1 bedroom apt.
$1,250 for a 350sq/ft apt. Some will also charges for utilities like electric.
