British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly has a message for Republicans who want to turn their backs on Ukraine: America is at its strongest when it embraces the world

British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly on Wednesday said that it was in America's best interests to keep backing Ukraine in its war with Russia, and that the U.S. was at its strongest when it when it engaged with the rest of the world.

The U.K. has been at the forefront of efforts to shore up Ukraine's armed forces, training soldiers and sending arms, as it fends off the Russian invasion.

But officials have privately expressed concern that a growing strand of isolationism among Republicans who back Donald Trump's America First stance could choke off aid from Washington, which has so far sent $40 billion in military assistance — by far the biggest contribution.

Cleverly, who was in the U.S. to attend the Aspen Security Forum, told DailyMail.com he was confident that it was a minority position for now.

But he said his message to skeptics was that the world had to stick with Ukraine.

'Because if we don't, if we allow Putin to prevail, if we don't establish the principle that you cannot change borders by force, the world has become a more dangerous place,' he said.

'That'll be more disruptive, more expensive, and therefore, it's better that we deal with this issue ... now and deal with it properly rather than a few years down the line.'

Hardline Republicans such as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene have slammed the Biden administration for spending billions on Ukraine while failing to close the southern border.

Others have highlighted how American families are struggling with rising bills while money flows overseas.

Cleverly said that was the wrong way to see America's place in the world.

We already bailed them out in two world wars.

I think we'd be stronger if we invested our money in our own borders, infrastructure, and economy.

“...if we don’t establish the principle that you cannot change borders by force, the world has become a more dangerous place,’ he said.”

Maybe they should arrest Tony Blair and Bill Clinton for Kosovo.

Well, we should be done defending them. Britain can spend its resources on Ukraine, but leave us out.

Exactly. Let them hock the Royal Jewels to pay for their Socialist counterparts.

They are draining us of weapons and money. The DNC is propped up by the Ukrainian Biden money laundry. The nerve of NATO co-conspirators chiding US over our morals if we want to save ourselves from the Deep State, avoid nuclear war with Russia and keep the money we earned to invest in the US instead of Nazi Azovs in the Ukraine.

America ‘embracing’ the world means Uncle Sugar needs to:

“Gibs Me Dat.”

Maybe we are strongest when we embrace the world. At present the Democrat Party is more interested in embracing children.

I strongly disagree with the guy’s comment.

America is at it’s strongest when it (people) embraces God and His son, Jesus.

A recent UK government finding was that the Brits could fight a major war for about ten days with their current military resources. No wonder they insist on having our sons, daughters and money do it for them.

I got a message for the Brits. Stop this stupid Great Game obsession you have with Russia. It is hard to see the slightest British interest there. But here you are, acting like it is 1850 and you want a war in Crimea.

And morons, you have 40 operational tanks.

Hahaha

All of these feel good arguments used to justify a war are complete and utter bullshit.

Truth is, a nations foreign policies are generally defined by pure economics and political expediency.

There are 41 armed conflicts going on around the world, but these faux moral arguments for war (ironic, moral war) are usually used selectively to motivate the masses to support these economically motivated conflicts.

Besides, if you want to talk morals in foreign policy, just think of these facts.

(1.) Our #1 trade partner whom we gave most favored trade status even as tanks crushed pro democracy students on Tienamin square, and supported WTO membership for, is also a single party communist regime which oppresses religion, occupies Tibet, threatens Taiwan and just conducted a defacto naval blockade, has forced labor, questionable organ harvesting practices, used to conduct forced abortions until recent, has mass government use of the death penalty (more than the entire rest of the world combined), throws dissidents into prison, mass internment camps, is completely anti LGBTQIA (supposedly that matters to us), ignore any sort of environmental standards (also allegedly important to us)...

(2.) We prop up a “king” in Saudi Arabia who dismembered a US resident and journalist in an allied NATO nation and our same politicians that talk about morality regards Ukraine not so much make a squeak about that.

(3.) Another king in Jordan and we have them torture folks there whom we kidnap in other places.

AND THEN WE TALK ABOUT DEMOCRACY AND HUMAN RIGHTS!!! Funny, isn’t it?

When politicians open their mouth and mention these moral ideas, they should be laughed and booed from stage. Politicians talking about morality, it’s like lecturing folks about morals from a brothel. Politics is the selling of influence and in the West is at BEST amoral. Religion isn’t part of our political process, it’s not part of our beurocracy, it’s not even found in our legal code, education or media today. We are a secular society. Usually, it’s the oligarchs who lead the big corporations and financial institutions, who own or influence the media, and can pay for lobbying and political parties and campaigns who have a disproportionately large influence in this system and when our politicians open their mouth about “morals” they are really merely trying to motivate you to support an economic cause.
