Elites have always gotten away with things you and I never could have. Two-tier systems of justice are the norm, not the exception in all societies.

But some societies are much worse than others, and one of the reasons the West has been so successful compared to most places is that our system of justice has been on the whole reasonably fair, at least until recently. Hardly perfect, but overall most people most of the time have enough faith in the system that they retain trust.

...

Teddy Kennedy’s manslaughter of Mary Jo Kopechne, a campaign volunteer and target for Ted’s baser desires.

...

What is striking about the scandal known as Chappaquiddick is not how disgusting Ted Kennedy’s behavior was–he got drunk, took a woman in his car with the intent to ravish her, drove off a bridge, escaped while leaving her to drown, and ran away to his family without notifying anyone. The whole series of events was utterly depraved.

No, what is striking is that it didn’t hurt Kennedy at all. He faced neither legal consequences nor any political or social consequences. He remained in the Senate for 4 decades, was a serious contender for the presidency, challenging a sitting president, and retired as the “Lion of the Senate.”

Democrats adored him and memory-holed Mary Jo Kopechne as if her life meant nothing at all. Because to them it did mean nothing. We saw the same thing with Bill Clinton, whose crimes didn’t rise to 2nd- or 3rd-degree murder, but rape was on the agenda, and his accusers were called “trailer trash” and unworthy of any support.

Believe all women. Except when they accuse Democrats.

...

Ted Kennedy was a disgusting figure, and obviously so. Even if he weren’t drunk driving and planning to commit adultery, leaving a girl to drown and hiding from authorities should have ruined him.

Instead it was swept under the rug. It’s good to be a Democrat.

Democrat Party progress. Teddy left dead bodies, modern dems leave their crack pipe as they flee their crash sites.

It was so bad, to keep it off the front pages of the news, they had to launch 3 astronauts to the moon.

As George Carlin observed, it’s a club and you’re not in it. Ted Kennedy was.

I always figured Mary Jo was pregnant or going public. That would explain the convenient shallow water that Ted escaped from and Mary Jo drowned in.

My favorite bit of logic:
Ted Kennedy’s Oldsmobile has killed more people than my AR-15.

I used to think RATs were evil only because Russian commies had highjacked the party. I used to think modern day RATs were nothing like the my grannies democrat party.

But RATs are evil to their core, and always have been. They were the pigs who defended slavery. There were the pigs who refused to allow emancipated slaves to own guns. They were the party of the sodomites, baby murderers, legal dope....

It's not a recent development. Evil is in their DNA.

Wiki...”A week after the incident, Kennedy pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident and was given a suspended sentence of two months in jail”

Also said “he dove 7-8 times to try and save her”. They write quite favorably about him.

Mary Joe Kopechne’s body was found in a position that implied that she was struggling to keep her head out of the water. Once Teddy’s car turned upside down, she did not immediately die; she was alive and then suffocated rather than drowned, slowly, as the water seeped in, for 11 hours.

Ted Kennedy’s decision not to report the crime is not only a clear-cut act of criminal negligence — but also an act of killing.

No autopsy was ever performed on Mary Joe Kopechne by the coroner, Dr. Mills, because proof of rape might have been discovered.

But Senator, what if I’m pregnant? Well, Mary Joe, we’ll just have to cross that bridge when we come to it.

Wrong!!!

But Senator, what if I’m pregnant? Well, Mary Joe, we’ll just have to run off that bridge when we get to it.

Rush Limbaugh called Mary Jo Kopechne a heroine for keeping Ted Kennedy out of the White House.

Teddy’s grave is near JFK’S grave. It is just down the sidewalk 30 feet or so. The marker is next to the sidewalk.

Very simple marker for the lying of the Senate. Oops lion.
