When my ancestors arrived in the United States by boat a century ago, tuberculosis was one thing that could get you sent back to “the old country”.
I am 90 years old…..my father died in 1938 of TB….he was 32 .
From my exposure I still test positive on the tine test all these years later…never had the disease .
