Israel's parliament on Monday ratified the first bill of a judicial overhaul sought by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, after last-gasp compromise efforts collapsed and failed to ease a constitutional crisis convulsing the country for months.
The amendment limiting the Supreme Court's powers to void some government decisions if it deemed them "unreasonable" passed by 64-to-0 vote after opposition lawmakers abandoned the session in protest, some of them shouting: "For shame!"
Demonstrations against the amendment began early in the day with police dragging away protesters who had chained themselves to posts and blocked the road outside parliament.

The Supreme Court can enforce any ruling they are able to, let them enforce it.
Good. From what I’ve read the leftist supreme court there has gotten ever more political and now thinks it can just override the will of the people. So they’re getting their wings clipped. The Left in Israel is freaking out about it. The Biden regime is of course backing the Leftist street theater over there in an attempted color revolution, but they have failed.
Good, let them rage. This provides me with as much joy as all the pussy hats raging when Trump was inaugurated.
All that the Leftists are upset about is that the judicial branch in Israel can no longer rule that country with an iron fist. Primary among these reforms is a clause that provides for the executive and legislative branches to nominate successors to retiring judges, or judges who have died. That is no different than most other countries in the western world, so one wonders, why it is that the people are raging about the power to appoint judges being removed from judges, and given to the people? Why should the judges be a power unto themselves, without any check, review or approval by the population of the country? There is no reason, other than the continued dominance of that entire branch of government by the Left. Screw them, I am ecstatic!
Unanimous vote as left abandoned its post. Why was it not rapidly followed by votes on other issues?!
However, that is only my opinion.
