The White House is blasting a popular Fox News host for his commentary on the Holocaust this week.
During an episode Monday of the network’s top-watched table talk program “The Five,” the panel discussed the state of Florida’s new controversial standards for teaching Black history, which direct teachers to include instruction on “how slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit.”
After a liberal member of the show’s panel asked if the same standard could be applied to Jews who were captured and tortured during the Holocaust, Greg Gutfeld chimed in.
The late night host replied by referencing the book “Man’s Search for Meaning,” written by a psychologist, Viktor Frankl, who survived a concentration camp.
“Frankl talks about how you had to survive in a concentration camp by having skills. You had to be useful,” Gutfeld said on the show Monday. “Utility. Utility kept you alive.”

Still it’s a lesson public figures need to heed. Even if it makes perfect sense, never invoke anything Nazi, there’s not enough upside to it to justify it potentially backfiring on you.
Paul Ryan has a job to do at Fox News. Would you let him do it!/s
I’m really trying to eliminate profanity from my lexicon, but all I can think to say to these cretins is eff off.
“Everything anyone says whom I don’t like is racist”.
Screw you.
Yes. First one to reference Nazis, loses the argument.
It was idle chatter.
One hand referencing Franks’s book good. Other hand, context was non-sequitur.
Problem is responding to illogical liberal comment.
Bigger problem everyone on these shows are preening self absorbed half-wits.
Fact #2: The White House uses the Holocaust (the largest human tragedy in recent hustory) just to hit at Foxnews. And needs to curb the racist duo Omar/Tlaib.
Greg is one of those new antisemitic Jews.
Not a real antisemite, like Soros, but a fake one.
Getting criticism from the likes of the turds in the White House is great praise.
Greg was raised Catholic.
The White House should do something constructive, and stop attacking its critics.
I'll ignore the White House, their boss has been anti Israel, his whining about "settlements" goes back decades as does his derision of Israeli leaders. If the Senate had a Squad back in Joe's day, he'd have been a member.
But the author, seriously, he wrote After a liberal member of the show’s panel asked if the same standard could be applied to Jews who were captured and tortured during the Holocaust, Greg Gutfeld chimed in.

I recognize Frankel isn't as well known as Freud or Adler, but of the three schools of Viennese Psychotherapy, he's a founder as were they. Why they may well have been referred to as psychologists in translation, I'm not sure, that's not an accurate characterization. And he wrote a lot more than a book on a concentration camp. Those skills Frankl related applicable to life, period.
What a stupid controversy. And yes, Gutfeld may have mischaracterized the book as well.
Meanwhile you have vile leftists who have called Israel a “Racist country” and you hear NOTHING from the White House
And Jesse is Jew. What did he think?
The Democrat party is upset because Gutfeld quoted a Holocaust survivor.
FOX will fire him.
From both his shows.
Just wait. Probably not long.
They never saw Roots where the slave ran the sawmill and then kept running it as a free man?
Leftists stand for nothing but antipathy for non-leftists.
That is their only consistent principle.
The White House is clearly against people being useful.
You stayed alive in a concentration camp as long as you were useful to the Nazis, or until they beat or starved you to death, gassed you or took you out and shot you, or they intimidated you to the point that you hung yourself.
