Access to the residence and offices of Niger President Mohamed Bazoum was blocked off Wednesday by members of the elite Presidential Guard, a source close to Bazoum said, although the reason was unclear. Access to the residence and offices of Niger President Mohamed Bazoum was blocked off Wednesday by members of the elite Presidential Guard.

The landlocked West African state is one of the most unstable nations in the world, experiencing four coups since independence from France in 1960 as well as numerous other attempts on power.

The country is struggling with two jihadist campaigns -- one in the southwest, which swept in from neighbouring Mali in 2015, and the other in the southeast, involving jihadists based in northeastern Nigeria.

They’re independent from France now.
Since everyone is equal, they have a bright future.
I look forward to the upgrades of all infrastructure in Africa.
Surely the black man can rebuild/enhance everything.

Just look at Haiti, way better without whitey.
Wakanda Forever!

It’s not the color of the skin nor is it the tribal structure that suppresses the African.
It is the willfull neglect and desire of the advanced Western nations that does not allow the African to advance.
It is to the advantage of the western nations to keep Africa in turmoil and abject poverty.

It has always been a puzzle to me why Europeans did not colonize Africa first before the New World. It’s not like they didn’t know it was there......................

Nigerian President:

President Bola Tinubu has described as unacceptable the attempted coup in Niger republic on Monday morning by yet to be identified military men. In a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, Tinubu said that the leadership of ECOWAS would not tolerate any situation that incapacitates the democratically-elected government.

“Information filtering in from the Republic of Niger indicates some unpleasant developments around the country’s highest political leadership.”

The president of Niger on Twitter:

The President of the Republic and his family are doing well.
The Army and the National Guard are ready to attack the elements of the GP involved in this mood swing if they do not return to better feelings.

GP = presidential guard

GP is fighting for a pay rise, but will be fired

I remember when USA dairy farmers donated pregnant heifers to Africa.

The plan: Send them pregnant heifers. WORTH ABOUT $2K EACH

Heifers calve out
Milk can be used by calf & village children
Breed back heifer
Continue the cycle, building up a herd that can provide milk & more calves, etc.

THE VILLAGERS KILLED & ATE THE HEIFERS

NO MORE HEIFERS WERE SENT

Russian pro-war blogger Boris Rozhin:

The military coup in Niger has been successfully completed.

Another pro-French president, Mohamed Bazuma, has been overthrown. The message about the seizure of power was read by Colonel Amadou Abdraman, who spoke on behalf of the army and security forces. Power has been seized by the military, which controls key administrative buildings in the Niger capital.

The country's borders are closed, the army warns that it will respond to any foreign intervention. A curfew has been declared in the country, and the activities of all state institutions have been temporarily suspended.

The United States and the United Nations called for the urgent release of the President of Niger. Niger is the de facto part of the remains of the French neo-colonial empire in northwest Africa.

It was in Niger that troops were withdrawn from Mali when they were asked to leave. Niger is home to strategic uranium mines that are critical to France's nuclear program. Remarkably, some of the leaders of the military rebellion have links to the military junta in Mali, which takes an open pro-Russian stance.

In the event that the rebels bring the coup to an end and completely seize power in the country, I would not rule out that after a certain amount of time, the Wagner PMC may appear in Niger, and the French will be asked to leave from here.

Niger will be free!

Daniel Foubert:

If the pro-Russian coup in Niger is a success, it is EXTREMELY serious for Europe.

France absolutely did not expect to be ousted from Niger (4th country…). 1/3 of uranium ☢️ used by France comes from Niger Congrats Emmanuel. Add Chad, & this will be 🇷🇺’s new colonial empire:

Al Jazeera’s Mike Hanna, reporting from Washington, DC, said the developments in Niger were of great concern to the US and its allies.

“The US has two drone bases in Niger. They also have about 800 troops, some of whom are understood to be special forces who have been training the Nigerian military,” said Hanna.

“Essentially, Niger is the last US ally left standing in that particular region of the world. Governments in neighbouring Mali [and] Burkina Faso have been toppled in military coups, and both of these countries have expelled the French soldiers who were there and have turned to Russian-backed forces for protection. So this is something that the US knows and has been watching with great concern, and that this could possibly be the next step in what is happening in Niger,” he added.
