This is a very high profile case. If Hunter breaks the condition of his release it will be known to the world.
The one individual that has the most on line over this is the judge. If it becomes known Hunter broke the condition of his release and it becomes widely known and she does not enforce it her reputation will be damaged. Is she willing to give up her chance to be promoted to a higher court to protect Hunter?

If they were totally baffled by drugs inside the White House, how are authorities going to guarantee Hunter is clean now?

Had Hunter done paintings and took bribes to fund charities, churches, and other noble things, they would have let it go. The prosecutor is more worried about this than Hunter. He promised his bosses at the DoJ and White Whithouse he could make everything go away and give Hunter blanket immunity on any other charges if he would accept a face saving (for the prosecutor) slap on the wrist. Notice how quickly he promised no additional charges which is what Joe & Hunter both want. The whole thing is a farce.
