During a portion of an interview with CNBC’s Deirdre Bosa aired on Wednesday’s broadcast of “The Exchange,” San Francisco Mayor London Breed stated that if she could, she “would get rid of most taxes on the books” tomorrow in order to help attract business to the city and argued that the tax system needs a complete overhaul so it works for the city and businesses.
Breed said, “Well, first of all, I would — if I could do it tomorrow morning, I would get rid of most taxes on the books. I want to also be clear that businesses need to pay their fair share. But not at the expense of losing business as a whole. So, I would completely reform the tax system to make it more fair, to make it more equitable, and to make it work for both the city and those businesses. I would also make sure that the streets and the city is clean and it’s safe, because we need to make sure that, as people come here on public transportation, as they move around the city using different modes of transportation, that they’re getting to work safe and they want to be here.”

dont mind the drug addicted laying on the streets the sh## on the sidewalks and the tents
Seems like a communist mind set — no need for taxes, no need for money. We will just “attract businesses” and people will work and produce goods, and lots and lots of services will be provided to all who need services. And it will be a paradise. And people will wonder: “Why did we ever think taxes and money were necessary??”
Businesses aren’t coming back even if you give them money if SF continues to allow legalized looting along with drug zombies crapping on the streets.
It’s so easy to be a leftist given how stupid most people are these days.
Things must be very bad in SF for them to say this.
CA loves taxing companies and voters.
I would also make sure that the streets and the city is clean and it’s safe,

So what stopping you from doing that?
The easy way to get rid of taxes is to get rid of government. Then, there’d be nobody to collect it, nobody to enforce it, and government expenses disappear.
We’d then see that people would still work, businesses would still do business.
Things must be very bad in SF for them to say this.
CA loves taxing companies and voters.

The funny thing is, they wont do anything about the crime and homeless on the streets.
So they are so desperate they will offer tax breaks to businesses, which on it’s face makes it sound like they don’t care about tax revenue, but they probably figure they’ll make it up by not losing income tax on everyone that works at those companies, but also, those tax loopholes are often a sort of bait-and-switch.
But you’re right. The question is, if they don’t love taxing the hell out of people and business, then why are they offering tax incentives?
Sounds like the whinings of an ex-wife who wants to "get back together."
"Okay, I'll stop whoring around if that's what's bothering you - but I still gotta be free, so no checking my phone messages or asking why I'm home late from the beauty shop!"
Regards,
Well..... you're the Mayor, how about starting today to implement those plans. Nobody expects it done tomorrow morning.
“Businesses aren’t coming back even if you give them money if SF continues to allow legalized looting along with drug zombies crapping on the streets.”
What business is going to stay in or return to SF when they know they are going to be robbed blind? Members of the Jackass Party are totally detached from reality.

Plus, taxes lowered by one insane woke mayor can (and will) be raised by the next one.
No plans to clean up the streets and actually start enforcing laws. Hmm....
Then the city just falls apart
Very good, but without public safety it’s meaningless.
I assume once business returns the taxes will suddenly be reinstated and increased.
She's trying to dissociate the city from the Left's fetish for "Taxation as punishment for Whitey" - without actually ending taxation.
Good luck.
