"The City has documentation that the City’s payroll files were properly submitted and received by its financial institution. Senior leaders at that institution have been actively involved since early this morning to push payments to the affected employees. The City has demanded that those deposits occur immediately this morning."

As of 8 a.m., it appears only uniformed employees were affected.

That is weird. I wonder if there was some kind of extra pay adjustment scheduled for uniformed employees. That would require extra programming that might not have gotten done, or might have been done improperly.

It definitely could be software but it would be interesting to know the name of the bank—maybe the FDIC has (quietly) halted all transactions until closing it down on Friday (the typical day of the week for bank closures).

As folks here know insolvent small and regional banks who are up to their necks in commercial real estate loans are everywhere just waiting to be exposed.

SOOOOOOOOO—YOU SEND OUT THE STANDARD CHECKS & THEN SEND ADDITIONAL CHECKS, IF NECESSARY.

YOU DO NOT STIFF THOSE WORKERS-—NOT EVEN FOR A DAY.

I have done enough payrolls to KNOW there is a workaround that doesn’t hurt the workers-—UNION OR NOT.
