It was more than 30 days. June 23 to August 11 and August 13 to August 28. A few more after that into September. High was 117 on June 28.

It’s called SUMMER! It gets hot sometimes during the SUMMER! You want to know something else? It gets COLD during the WINTER!

I have a high degree of confidence that northern summer will be hot again as well.

Summer will be hot.

Winter will be cold.

The “experts” remind me of the classic movie “Being There”.

Until the 1990's climatologists were part historians. One of the reasons for the global cooling scare of the 1970's is that the prior warm periods were common knowledge among even amateur scientists. And everybody knew that life in the warm periods was great (higher crop yields, more predictable rain patterns, less deaths by plague) than life in the cooling periods (more starvations, decades of droughts followed by damaging rains, 1/4th of the world dying from the Bubonic Plague).

The political cult told us that the Modern Warm Period was ending prematurely and that we'd enter another cooling period soon. That lie didn't hold water long because it was obvious we were still warming. So they waited a while (until the 1990's) and changed the climate farce into warming being a bad thing, hoping that people would have short memories about warming periods being good things, or that prior warm periods existed at all. If you look at the graph, from the low point of the Little Ice Age to today we have done a lot of warming. But it's no different from the warming done from the bottoming of the Greek Dark Age cooling period to the Roman Climate Optimum.

And if you look at history, you'll realize that many atrocities were committed during the cooling periods. This is, in part, because normally kind leaders change their tune when their people starve to death and/or die out from plague. Desperate time bring desperate measures. For example, when Africa experience mega-droughts during the Little Ice Age, black nations/kingdoms/tribes took over land from other blacks to get some more food. What did they do with the people in the conquered lands? Not keep them and feed them -- the conquerors themselves were starving. So they killed them or sold them into slavery. No Little Ice Age would have meant a lot less supply on the African slave trade. The same with the demand side (white folks and Asians and Middle Easterners and Africans needed extra workers to work the land to squeeze out more crops in an era it was hard to get crops from the land). The same with white slaves taken to north Africa. The same the Huns having to expand southwest during the Dark Age cooling period (an event that resulted in Anglos and Saxons being forced out of modern day Germany) in part because the Huns' crop yields were down.

Basically, people in both the recent past and distant past knew that the warm periods were good times to be alive (at least from a climate perspective). But the political left has made a cult over the past few decades out of hating the Modern Warm Period

South Central Pa is getting it’s first real dose of heat & humidity now.
Climate change=bullsh!t
It’s summer, it’s hot, get over it.

Go back to records from 1966, and see the heat wave then.

1980 was a very hot summer.

My grand dad told me about the summer of 1935. A/C was not available then. I asked him how they got through the summer and he told me that they just made do.

To the Left’s credit, they’ve FINALLY learned to give their hardest Global Warming pushes in the summer, rather than right after blizzards.

But one thing they won’t address: If we play along with their predictions and statements, then far more people will need air conditioning as China will EASILY OFFSET any carbon reductions from the West, not to mention the Third World doing the same.

But, yet again, ‘they’ know the above, but are not about to address it.

WHAT HEAT? This is the coolest and wettest spring and summer I can ever remember in the Ozarks, and I have been here since 1956! Only 1973 and 1974 were wetter.

In this area the normal is wet May and dry, Dry, DRY and hotter than he!! the rest of the summer!

This is all aimed at children, and it’s working, that’s why the left doesn’t relent on the propaganda about climate change. Because for every adult that rolls their eyes or laughs at the climate clowns, there is an entire classroom of children that are experiencing hot weather for the first time, at !east cognizant of the weather around them.

Climate fatalism is being imprinted on the youth. It’s similar to music, when You think about how the vast majority of people stick with the music imprinted upon them in their teen years, for the rest of their lives.

Climate change imprinting is going to be next to impossible to deprogram, and the left knows it. So every year, every season is The Most Extreme Weather of all time, despite actual statistics.

Yeah, we had a really mild summer with a lot of rain. Is that global warming too? And I heard people were getting burned if they laid down on the asphalt in Phoenix.

When I was a kid in Indiana, we had triple digit summers, and if I went barefoot on the asphalt, it was too hot to walk. So, that was climate change too?

I wouldn’t use the Dust Bowl as an example of random weather. That one actually was man made, due to poor farming techniques.

When I was relocating to Phoenix a long while ago, I remember looking at houses with a realtor. It was 118 F and she told me that is about as far as it goes. I remember that temperature in summer quite regularly since.
We still have not beat the 122 F record set a long time ago.
This year, we have long period of heat in July, but we had very cold May and June. But that was just weather then. Now it is climate!

Hottest temps ever?

Pure propaganda!

Here are three highly reliable USA sources for domestic and global temps.

The US Climate Reference Network - the most accurate and most pristine set of temperature stations in the world - showed that the average June 2023 USA temp was -0.38 F BELOW the 30 year average June temp.

The University of Alabama (Huntsville) global satellite temperature data for June 2023 was just +0.68 F ABOVE the 30 year average global temp.

The current July 27 Real Time Global Surface Temperature is 57.44 F. That is just +0.24 F ABOVE the 30 year average global surface temp.

The data and charts for the numbers above can be found on the right side margin of the home page for "Watts Up With That," which is the most visited Climate Skeptic website in the world.

I wonder if our reliance upon a/c has just made the summers outside feel more intolerable.

I’m up in the northeast. I’ve been uncomfortable for one hot, humid day thus far. Tomorrow it will be 90. But last year there were three weeks that were tough.

We only have a/c in our cars. It’s summer. Fall will be here soon enough.
