Dialing the time machine back to 1972, we find a previous presidential scandal. Though not directly involved, Richard Nixon was the focus of blame. A handful of operatives in Nixon's campaign and administration performed a "third-rate burglary" at the opposition's headquarters. Several of those involved avoided using their first names. Instead, they were G. Gordon Liddy, E. Howard Hunt, and L. Patrick Gray.
Most curious in this affair was the lack of a serious motive. Nixon's re-election was a solid inevitability. Not all that long after the Watergate break-in hit the news, Nixon carried 49 states, and McGovern didn't even carry his home state of South Dakota. It seems most likely that internal polling would have been aware of this. Once the scandal became full blown, "Don't Blame Me I'm from Massachusetts" bumper stickers started appearing — referencing the only state along with D.C. that went for McGovern.
A lasting effect of the election of 1972 is that primary elections have replaced nominating conventions as the way both parties usually select their candidates. Ostensibly, this is supposed to be more democratic — but it has also drastically increased the hunger for campaign contributions, since there is almost twice as much campaigning to be done. An aspect of unintended anti-democratic effect of this transition is that the larger money sources, such as George Soros, have strengthened their grip on the process.
In Biden's case, the scandal is not especially political, but instead that of a quest for profit. He has been caught selling influence — and often not in the best interest of the United States. Wrapped into this burrito is the DOJ and other government minions, who've gone to great lengths to keep this business out of the news. Trump's presidency exposed the myth of government being politically neutral.

Is that a trick question?
Biden’s case is potential racketeering and wire fraud...
Not to mention possible treason some say...
Wrong question/
Which is worse: Watergate or Crossfire Hurricane?
RE: Which is worse: Watergate or Crossfire Hurricane?
Which President was invovled in the latter?
Well of course Nixon’s “crimes” were/are worser. He was a very popular Republican president, who in the 1972 election carried 49 states and thus had to be disposed of by the Deep State, The Democrats and their allies in the press and the Republican party.
Joe Biden is a very unpopular Democrat president, who in the 2020 electioncarried 25 states and the district of Corruption with 81 million votes. He is supported by the Deep State, The Democrats and The Uniparty Republicans and their allies in the media.
As far as Biden Gate is concerned, we still don’t know all the facts. There are likely major untold stories. The media is only now paying any attention to it. We will see what else comes out as time goes on.
Nixon never sold us out to a country that creates bioweapon viruses. He might have conspired to provide top cover for a crew of political burglars. He NEVER conspired to provide top cover for the origins of a deadly worldwide pandemic.
Not even close. Watergate: a few underlings broke into an office and took some pictures.
Biden took millions in bribes from foreign countries and had the prosecutor looking into it removed through extortion then bragged about it at a WEF meeting.
They never forgave Nixon for HUAC. They were going to get that scalp one way or the other.
And with today's media, we never will. Hunter's slap on the wrist compared to jail time (e.g., Wesley Snipes in for 3 years) for those with similar amounts involved just shows how corrupt DOF, FBI, and the WH are. Hunter should be in jail now on his drug use videos alone. Hopefully, he and his Dad share a cell soon. Only then will a lot of us have any faith in the DOJ/FBI and the legal system/process in general.
“Electiongate” was the worst, and covering up Hunter and Joe’s antics was a part of that.
Only an idiot would ask that question.
A US President literally is selling America to other countries involving millions (probably billions) of dollars in ill-gotten gain.
A mid-level doofus staffer stole a few files to protect the reputation of his prostitute girlfriend, whom he eventually married.
People dare to conflate the two situations?
We were still a republic.
This is worse.
Never thought the Nixon stuff was all that bad anyways.
These are the same antagonists, Nixon saw them coming to power and tried to defeat them. Trump exposed them again and they are hell bent on destroying him like they did Nixon.
Deep state, leftists, Marxists, democrats, Whatever you call them it is the same group battling the people for control of the country.
Watergate was about a local burglary! Bidengate is global and about the very security of the USA. There should be no question, except for idiots, as to which was worse!!!!!
I have trouble conceiving of “Bidengate” as singular.
FALSE! Chuck was still a member of the Iowa House during Watergate. He entered US House Jan 1975 and didn't reach US Senate until Jan 1981. The proper comparison is that Bribery Biden WAS in US Senate starting Jan 1973 and had been in the US House the prior two years. He didn't learn anything from the experience because (a) he always was a lousy student, and (b) he was allegedly too busy dating his married babysitter to pay attention.
The other appropriate comparison was that HRC worked for the Watergate Committee, earning, but of course not receiving, disbarment as a result. Her reaction to Nixon's alleged crooks seems to have been, "Amateurs!"
