A social media influencer who extolled the virtues of a vegan diet of raw tropical fruit has died, reportedly of malnutrition, exhaustion and infections.
Zhanna Samsonova, a Russian blogger who regularly posted about her extreme diet of raw tropical fruit on Instagram and TikTok, was living and working in south-east Asia.
The 39-year-old claimed she had not drank water for six years, drinking fruit and vegetable juices instead.
She regularly spoke of taking pride in the fact that people could not believe she was approaching her 40th birthday.

Depends on where in SE Asia she was. In some areas, the water isn’t exactly safe.
Vegans have to carefully calculate whether they are consuming sufficient proteins of the correct types and ratios and so on, and also have to take B12 supplements (B12 is only available through foods sourced from animals).
This lady killed herself with her nutty diet. I hope she didn’t “influence” anyone else to do the same.
She replaced it with fruit and vegetable juice. Highly acidic.

Same here. I drink purified tap water or bottled spring water.

My thought exactly. I don’t care what individuals do. But I bet there are some people in bad shape today because of her. I hope they get help now that their hero has died.
