New York City Health Commissioner Ashwin Vasan announced that illegal immigration has been ushering a new wave of tuberculosis and polio to the city.
In a citywide letter to physicians and healthcare administrators last week, Vasan said that the more than 50,000 illegal immigrants that have come to New York City since last year caused a spike in contagious diseases like tuberculosis and polio.
“Many people who recently arrived in NYC have lived in or traveled through countries with high rates of TB,” he wrote, as reported by the New York Post.
Tuberculosis can be cured with antibiotics and generally takes six to nine months to fully recover. According to the Post, the city’s TB rate is now more than double the national rate with 6.1 cases per 100,000. “Close to nine out of 10 (88%) of these TB cases are people born outside the United States,” it noted. “Every neighborhood in the city has had at least one case.”

What he meant to say was that undocumented immigrants are disease free, upstanding people, a valueable asset to our culture, and in no way are draining resources away from American citizens.
Better quarantine NYC, then. Razor wire should do it.

A few years ago I developed pneumonia, recovered, but ended up with 3 white spots on the lung which doc thought was cancerous and suggested I get operated on to remove them (ie 1/4 of my lung taken out)
I almost got,operated on, but 3 days before surgery, I got nervous and asked for a biopsies to be done just to be sure it was cancer.
Doc did the biopsies, and called me in and told me he had no idea what the spots were, (as they had only looked for cancer in the biopsies apparently) and suggested they could even be tuberculosis but added that it probably wasnt because tuberculosis was very rare.
I’m guessing that in 10 or so years, we all will have to consider thr possibility that lung issues might be tuberculosis from then on thanks to the third world disease making a comeback because our feckless leaders are allowing infected people in without examining and quarantining them (or better yet, expelling them) like they should
