China's cyberspace regulator said on Wednesday children under the age of 18 should be limited to a maximum of two hours a day on their smartphones, sending shares in tech companies tumbling.
The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) said it wanted providers of smart devices to introduce so-called minor mode programmes that would bar users under 18 from accessing the internet on mobile devices from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Users aged 16 to 18 would be allowed two hours a day, children aged eight to 16 would get one hour while children under eight would be allowed just eight minutes.

Xia Hailong, a lawyer at the Shanghai Shenlun law firm, said the rules would be a headache for the internet companies.
“A lot of effort and additional costs to properly implement these new regulatory requirements," he said.
"And the risk of non-compliance will also be very high. So I believe that many internet companies may consider directly prohibiting minors from using their services."

If they can’t carry their phones, where will they store their digital “vaccine” passport?
It would be easier to make them eat their veggies.
2 hours a day is still too much.
The Chinese are going to BURY US
No doubt.
time? only takes a mouse click away...
“Or else what?” would be the first response from most kids, although some might not voice that question out loud.
“No dinner?
No problem. I got a box of Little Debbie brownies, a Sprite and two boxes of pre-cooked bacon.”
Presents an opportunity for huge gains to corrupt elites in both US and China. Chinese elites would rake in bribes to bypass restrictions, and US elites will grant asylum to billions of Chinese opponents of the restrictions.
A broken clock...
And I recall the era when kids had to ask permission to use the phone, a land line. I was one of them. It never bothered me. Face to face interactions in work and recreational activities occupied the day, without any electronic devices.
No phone in my house until I was 19……we were struggling financially ….this was many years ago.
…
Nothing wrong with that.
This should be interesting. Will it turn these kids completely against their gov’t?
Yes, Article 35 of the CCP's Constitution says "Citizens of the People's Republic of China shall enjoy freedom of speech, the press, assembly, association, procession and demonstration." They ripped off that line from white people, by the way, like just about everything CCP. However, CCP captives do not have anything like a Second Amendment, rendering the whole document 100% meaningless.
Kids should never have them out during classroom time. No excuses.
After school, kids shouldn’t use them until after homework and other requirements are done.
That alone would limit the time to a small amount each day.
But parents, teachers, administrators, and other adults don’t like to be the bad guy these days.
Even a stopped clock...
The whole regime will fall now. First the revolt for phone freedom, then others will see the way they can fight back, too.
