Derek Chauvin should have been punished for manslaughter. I wouldn’t indict the other cops. I would just take their badges and call it a day.
Derek Chauvin was doing exactly what his government employer trained him to do. Everything he did, including the restraint, was "by the book."
Does making him a scapegoat for a junkie's death help make it better because it assuages the mob?
Nope. Chauvin should have finished his shift, gone home, and showed up for work the next day.
He didn’t kill anyone, he didn’t assault anyone, and he wasn’t the criminal in this case. That would be the drug addled thug passing counterfeit $20’s around town.

Manslaughter may be inappropriate. Failing to aid an overdose victim who was violently resisting is actually what happened. George Floyd was a pathetic drug abuser and overdosed.
