IMHO this is a never-let-a-crisis-go-to-waste situation. So, yes Mass Dims are hypocrites for whining about the illegals they championed. But a "state of emergency" brings with it broad powers for controlling people even more than the Dim states already do. In this case, she's using it to "remove the burdensome barriers keeping people from getting work authorizations, address our outdated and punitive immigration laws, and provide much needed financial assistance to help states like Massachusetts address this national issue."
In other words, "state of emergency" = rush on more immigration reform.
