Desantis happens when one stops being their authentic self and starts being who their big money donors and political advisors tell them to be.

Which reminds me of something: In life, you can pursue the truth or pursue being liked.

Choose Wisely.

Ron Desantis has clearly IMO stopped pursuing truth. The proof is clearly visible that’s true.

Deep State’s candidates are all imploding.

Could it be because they’re all...gasp...Deep State?!?

There’s a shocker.

Not exactly true.
Ed Rollins has sank nearly every GOP candidate he has worked for except for McCain.
He uses Reagan on his resume but he was key person on Ross Perot’s bid, the gay crazy Michael Huffington.

He has a long track record of backing losers or 2nd tier attack dogs.

I have really been disappointed with DeSantis during this campaign. He is so inauthentic and so he comes across as cringy and stiff. His handlers put him in store bought jeans, cowboy boots and big belt buckles in order to "connect" with the average Joes. He then comes across as a total fake. It's like the CEO of your company showing up to the company picnic in cargo shorts and crocs - that you know he would never wear among his peers when vacationing in Martha's Vineyard.

Trump never did that. Sure, he looked out of place strolling through the Iowa State Fair in a slick NYC business suit, but you knew Trump was staying true to himself and not trying to pretend he's just a regular Joe.

The fakery, like John Kerry saying during another campaign, "Where can I get me a fishin' license?", is very condescending to the voters and they see right through the charade.

DeSantis was very ill-prepared for this campaign. He was thrust into it prematurely by RINO folks whispering in his ear that Trump was going to prison and so he ought to set himself up sooner, rather than later, to claim the nomination.

This kind of crass opportunism is very off-putting to Trump voters, who rightully believe Trump was cheated in 2020. No wonder Trump and his supporters are so angry with DeSantis. It would be like your best friend having designs on your beautiful wife after you get diagnosed with terminal cancer. Your best friend can't even wait until you are properly in your grave before making moves on her.

DeSantis should have focused on being governor of Florida, which he apparently was doing a good job at, and bided his time for the 2028 campaign. He likely would have earned the support of Trump and the MAGA base.

Instead, he decided to cast his lot with the RINOS and the establishment. Very sad.

RCP has Trump leading DeSantis 54 to 16, wider yet in some states. The ratio in the comments here is similar. The endless attacks on fellow conservatives makes you think Trump and his supporters believe the race is going to tighten, opposite of what they are saying.

In the news is the 1.7 Trillion dollar deficit, millions of illegals flooding across our border, and hundreds of other things going wrong, destroying our country, and the obsession instead is on bringing down the distant second place conservative who (also) wants to fix things?

Dividing the movement is not a winning strategy. The name calling is tiresome, trivializes the Left regime threat. Most of the 16% like myself voted for Trump twice, supported his policies and have defended him endlessly, as we lost the 2018 election, 2020 *, 2022, 4 Senate races in Georgia, his hand picked candidates in AZ and PA, and the majority in the Senate, and what happened to the 40 seat win in the House?

* Whatever the cheat is, you beat it by going after a wider margin of victory, not a narrower one. The tie goes to the Dem. We must win the right and the center, now, or we will be governed by the Left - forever.

You might think a little introspection would be in order, but no. Not even a commitment to support whoever wins, even with a 38 point lead. Good grief.

PS, Trump had a HORRIBLE first debate in 2020, couldn’t handle the two against one format. Watch it again if you don’t believe me. Now he thinks debates are for second place. His advisers say it’s too risky for him, he can only go down from where he is. Really? Why wouldn’t his support go up with a great performance?

In my view, he is not above the fray until his general election numbers approach 60%. Debating your challengers is how you refine and showcase your skills and your message. I have no idea which candidates will shine or fall flat in the debates. That’s why we have them.

Backing into the playoffs and losing the next round is no strategy, and this isn’t a game.

Ok now back to name calling memes - if losing the general election is what you want.

“Rob DeSantis is imploding. Is it Rob? Or the people around him?”

well, ron is ostensibly in charge of his own campaign, so either he appoints the people around him or allows them around him ... the question is somewhat ill-formed to start with, but in reality ron has no one else but himself to point fingers at ...

i’ve always thought that any presidential candidate who can’t run their own campaign, certainly can’t run the country ... at least hillary ran her own campaign ... and of course, Donald Trump runs his as well ...

“Support Trump and say you hope he wins. Match your policies to Trump’s policies. Populist policies. And say: I am ready to take up the standard should he fall in battle.

But they are too stupid to come up with a successful plan like that.”

Exactly.

That would have been a win win strategy.

It probably never occurred to the “experts”.

You’re right it’s very sad. But I’m glad we found out what a poser he is. I don’t think he did a good job at being Florida’s governor for Florida safely. Think he did a big act so that he could be presidential material. I live in Florida. I might not be able to afford to stay here because Florida is going to be for the rich people lonely very soon and we have been abandoned for a false hope and dream by Ron. He can’t win without Florida in the first place. What was he thinking?

The stupid "experts" have one strategy: "Bash your opponents all day long."

They aren't smart enough to go with the tide.
