Leaders call out education commissioner...on controversial Black history standards
NBC MIAMI (network owned fake news) ^ | 10 August 2023 | Niko Clemmons

More than 100 people attended the nearly two-hour town hall for a passionate and heartfelt discussion....

....A spokesperson for Florida's education commissioner says the standards are in-depth and comprehensive. But critics say the standards are suppressing the bad parts of Black history and overstating the good parts, pointing out an update that requires teachers to talk about the skills African Americans gained while enslaved that could have led to their personal benefit.

"For us to be sitting here in 2023 and trying to say that there was a benefit to slavery is appalling,” said the president of the United Teachers of Dade, Karla Hernandez-Mats. "It is absurd to continue to see these racist actions."

Hernandez-Mats and other leaders are once again encouraging people to vote.

Okay, there is NO proof Diaz made a commitment to attend...only assertions by the politicians and the media. Perhaps he did so on a tentative basis. Tentative would've been wise considering how the Dems and media are aligned.

And he likely chose to not show up based on scheduling AND the *fact* that this "discussion" was organized by a couple of Democrat party operatives on the school board and in the legislature who hate anything Ron DeSantis does along with a teacher union boss.

In other words, it was a rigged meeting.

They held it in Miami Gardens, the home of Trayvon Martin. MG is known more for its crime than its fierce dedication to parental involvement in education.

Local Miami media--all the network TV stations--are repeating the leftist talking points.

By the way—Miami Gardens has a population of about 110,000. So the media crowing about “100 people” showing up (most of whom may well have included media)...is a joke.

Just more race baiting.

Florida ping, Joe, if you find it noteworthy.

I’m sure the new standards are “suppressing the bad parts of black history” such as rampant criminality, illegitimacy, and stupidity.

When will black people understand that the Democrat Party believes that black people are stupid and helpless- can’ accomplish anything unless they are guided and led and placed?

I guess Karla doesn’t think the fact that she is sitting here, employed and elected to a high position, is a benefit of her ancestors being brought to this racist nation.

I’m inclined to agree.

The black community needs to be told to stop whining and blaming whitey, and just focus on improving themselves.

It is a fact that some slaves learned skills and trades. Alll this overwrought emotional BS is driving us to irreconcilable differences.

Yes, this whole event sounds staged. Location is everything, as the saying goes.

Leftmedia bias in full effect, to no one's surprise -- the same presstitutes that decry as 'terrorists' parents who, concerned about pedo-grooming, show up at education meetings and town halls. But show up to protest race-baiting, race-hating revisionist history, and they're praised as heroes.

Doom on 'em. All of them.

My favorite thing to ask these Liberal Leftists, when they say stupid stuff like there was no benefit to being a slave, is, “Would the blacks born here in America be better off being born in some third-world, probably war- and poverty-stricken, barren African country?!?”

That is NOT to say being immorally enslaved is right, but being an American (which many of those born in third-world, war- and poverty-stricken, barren African countries would give their entire lives for) IS A MAJOR BENEFIT OF HAVING BEEN A SLAVE!!

There is no way to even act like this is not a benefit to those who were enslaved or descendants thereof - PERIOD!

Exactly, some slaves were trained in skills such as masonry, coopering (making containers), distilling, carpentry, blacksmithing, domestic husbandry, textile workers, dairy workers, engineering, musicians, and obviously agribusiness.

Many, if not MOST of those skills would NOT have been of the same quality and quantity if they had acquired those skills in their original third-world home countries (or the home country of their ancestors) - PERIOD!
