My grandfather, who immigrated legally, was checked out at Ellis Island in 1899. If you were sick, they’d give you a chance to get better, but if it looked like you weren’t going to get better, or would be a burden on the U.S., they’d send you back.

While, no doubt, this will be blamed on Gov. Abbot, why didn’t the Immigration people notice the kid was unwell?

My Dad’s family came through Ellis Island in October 1927. The stories my grandpa and grandma told about their health checks back then were amazing. My then-seven year old uncle (now deceased) spoke rarely of his recollection of a cavity search. It really traumatized him.

Between the faux vax that sickens, weakens or kills people and the illegals bringing in covid make you wonder what the number would be like if we had a closed border and no vax. Way better off would be the conclusion.
