One source today who claimed to be in the crisis meetings on the island, said the number is more like ‘above 500, less than 1000 dead.’ They also said most were probably children. Because of the hurricane watch, schools had been let go and the children were at home. They had no warning... the emergency systems seemed to have totally failed so they expect to find many children when they finally get to digging through the dwellings.
A hurricane watch which was totally inappropriate. See: Joe Bastardi at Weather Bell— this storm was NEVER projected to the Islands. Never, and it dissipated quickly. A govt. created tragedy for these children.
