California Republican officials and lawmakers at the state and national levels spent Monday promoting the party’s “Bank Your Vote” campaign, which is meant to boost turnout among conservative voters by encouraging them to take advantage of mail-in ballots ahead of Election Day next year.
“To win in 2024, we know Republicans must reach more voters than ever before, which is exactly what we are doing through the ‘Bank Your Vote’ program,” Jessica Millan Patterson, chairwoman of the California Republican Party, reportedly said on a Monday call with news outlets.
What’s going unsaid in the praise for mail-in ballots is exactly why such a turnout program is necessary. Republicans are in a bit of a pickle since they’ve spent much of the past few years scrutinizing the mail-in ballot system and the role it played in Joe Biden’s victory over Donald Trump. Now, it seems they realize that fostering distrust in the country’s only apparatus for electing a leader isn’t a winning strategy for 2024.
The Republicans who hosted Monday’s call — among them were Patterson; Ronna McDaniel, the chair of the Republican National Committee; and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who represents Bakersfield in Congress — did not bring up Trump until prompted to do so by a reporter, despite Trump being the party’s presidential front-runner and best-known election conspiracy theorist. Instead, they hammered the importance of Republicans getting their ballots in early.

Barf alert is implied.
I smell fear.
In order to compete with the Demoncrats, Republicans will have to get manufactured ballots in early AND mail them from Demoncrat precincts
How many Republicans is the San Fran Chron talking about?

Republican Plans in California should be evacuation to a place of safety outside the state.
Thanks for your concern San Francisco Chronicle
Trump is also supporting early vote efforts.
F’em, the GOP has been ineffective in Hawaii, along with just about everywhere else. Which is why Trump is a champion among us.
Does the GOP still exist in California?
The GOP were losers in CA long before President Trump came down the escalator.....
The GOP in California hasn’t had a plan in place for 25
years. Take my word for it.
They didn’t support the last Republican who had a chance
back around 2002, because he was too Conservative.
Our guy toured by bus, while Gray Davis took private jets
around the state. Our guy couldn’t get his face on TV.
Davis was all over the place front and center.
The Republican party didn’t send anyone out to help. I take
it back, out of months of campaigning, they sent Bush out
for two or three rallys, and that was it.
They Left had big national names over and over again.
It was embarrassing.
Davis spent about $10 million.
Our guy was limited to around $2 million.
precisely. the article is just more MSM BS.
Yes it’s that they’re using them for vote fraud.
I think California vote is completely fake now.
So what’s your theory about why the GOP has (apparently) basically written off CA as a loss?
Trump has nothing to do with this. Matter a fact several GOP congressional elections where won through legal ballot harvesting. Donald though probably cost Lake the governorship in Arizona by not stressing early voting and relying too heavily on election day turnout. There’s too many variables with relying on people showing up on 1 day that’s where Donald until recently got it wrong.
