Tennessee and Texas have no income tax. I am sure that helps. It’s unbelievable they are writing stories like this when most Americans aren’t making 100k. Just imagine trying to survive NY & SF on half that if 100k is worth a third of that amount.
No state income tax in Texas, but if you happen to be lucky enough to own a home there, really high property tax rates.

That's true, but in Texas they make up for it in property taxes. We get royally screwed. I want to move to Tennessee but I hear things are getting expensive there as well.
