But DeSantis loves to claim credit for “securing elections” down in Florida. Which implies they weren’t secure to begin with... so what? Does he expect us to believe the elections were insecure but Democrats were just too noble to take advantage of that fact to cheat?

And are we supposed to believe all the other states, where the governors have taken none of the steps DeSantis took, are not also insecure?

DeSantis had a few people arrested for voter fraud right before the elections... and the papers covered it. So word got out and people talked about it.

My guess is the reason Republicans won in Florida but the ‘red wave’ didn’t happen in other states was because DeSantis scared the people who usually do the voter fraud.

Spot on.

"Claims of fraud are unsubstantiated ... but I cleaned up Florida's election process to eliminate fraud!"

This is a clear case of cognitive dissonance.

Do you not realize that 5-6 years ago, Florida was described as "going purple" and in the course of two elections, DeSantis and team have turned this state into a solid "deep red" state?

Don't try to invent a narrative that suits the Trumpaholics.
