As rates of sexually transmitted infections continue to skyrocket across the United States, a growing number of physicians are prescribing a commonly used antibiotic as a way to prevent chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis infections in gay and bisexual men and transgender women.
Doxycycline is a class of medications traditionally used to treat bacterial STIs after someone has been infected. Yet recent research suggests that one 200mg dose of the drug can be effective in preventing such infections among men who have sex with men if taken within 72 hours after unprotected sex.

Remember when "safe sex" simply meant a husband and wife in a faithful marriage?
I can think of a much more effective way to slow them down...no drugs or medicine or fake vaxxes required.
But they can’t sell their cures that way.
Why is this even needed? Call me phobic or whatever. But to me that sounds like the equivalent of a solution to help people routinely heal in ways that needed so they can keep their habit of eating broken glass.
A pill held between the knees would help more
When did STD’s become STI’s?
So, how long will that last before the bacteria becomes immune to the anti-biotic. Maybe they had better include information about the potential for disease, associated with gay sex, in school child grooming classes.
That is an excellent way to breed antibiotic resistant strains of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis.
We are entering into the post-antibiotic era. Between Biden’s open borders and antibiotic resistant strains of most bacterial diseases, diseases like polio, tuberculosis, cholera, malaria, and yellow fever, which were once eliminated in the United States, are going to make a big comeback.
Future historians will look back in the late 20th and early 21st Centuries as the golden age of medicine, when most biological infections could be treated with antibiotics.
STI, STD? What is the difference? Why the new name? More stupid change for the sake of change.
sounds like an excellent way to kill all your good gut bacteria and cause all kinds of health problems,
but than again I have heard that sticking your dick in someone elses anal orifice is also a way to cause yourself health problems.
BINGO
However, clinical treatment failures have been reported and the chlamydia isolates from these failures have been found to demonstrate multi-drug resistance in vitro, including resistance to tetracyclines (including doxycycline) and macrolides (including azithromycin) - with mutations in a 23S rRNA gene been associated with in vitro resistance to macrolides.

Great question.
When did GRIDS become AIDS, and then HIV infection?
The language being massaged to bolster or conceal a narrative.
I can remember when these were known as venereal disease. Then "sexually transmitted diseases" (STD's) still carried the connotation of sickness, which wouldn't do. Apparently, you can be infected without being sick. So "infection" was the new sterilized term for a disease which can harm or kill you if not treated quickly.
Random butt sex, 200mg of Doxycycline, then off to the Red Cross to donate blood.
Not to mention that resistance transferring to non-sexually transmitted bacteria via gene transfer.
Can’t keep it zipped. Can’t stick to one partner. Can’t wear condoms. Taking life-saving miracle drugs to that make HIV drop to undetectable levels or prevent it from gaining a foothold, with no gratitude or humility. And still willing to embrace every ugly bacteria, protozoon and virus, both known and novel.
Lost my sympathy years past.
Yes it does.
And knowing this Administration, that may be the plan, to cook up yet another "crisis."
STI, STD, a rose by any other name would smell as feculent.
Yep, that was my first response. If you read into this story, the "experts" are open about "we don't know." Some doctors are prescribing these regardless, so they just go with the flow.
Notice that queers are advised to take these within 72 hours of having "unprotected," i.e. FILTHY sex. What if filthy sex is a nightly habit with these degenerates? (It is for many of them.) So, they're on a steady regimen of these antibiotic pills? That's going to give the various disease pathogens a great workout.
When did it all change from VD?
