1 "Mr Blue Sky" is a pretty good choice.

When I was in college we would play music very loudly at swim practice. Mr. Blue sky was the first song on our morning practice tape. It’s perfect for warming up at 5:00 am on a cold winter’s day. The constant high tempo through a majority of the song was great to stretch out and get moving in the water. I would time my strokes to its beat. Lots of painful memories associated with that song. 😂

I sort of like Alanis Morissett-but not all her music is about being pissed at an ex like “You Oughta Know” is...

So what instruments did you play? I assume guitar. What kind of music?

I get all that but the fact remains that there are no great songs right now. This is a distinct change from how it used to be.

No amount of spotifying and sifting through playlists changes this fact. You can drill down into the interwebs as far as you want and you’ll never find great new songs.

Here is the breakdown of America by political/philosophical leanings, per Pew:

The Loyalists make up 19%. We can beat them.

Most of my kids like 80’s music and country. Oldest son used to be into ghetto-rap but thankfully grew out of that garbage when he had to grow up!

I sure wish I had those gifts. I make birds drop from the sky if I try to sing. My grandson rolls on the floor with uncontrollable laughter., the little punk. 😋

As a result I never tried to play an instrument. But I love listening to music, & all types. But very limited Rap. Ever listen to some of Tom MacDonald's rap music? I like him, because of his messages. Every year around Veteran's day he creates a T-Shirt, & all proceeds go to help the homeless vets. BTW, ignore the self-mutilation he's done. He was an alcoholic who finally cleaned himself up, & was a former professional wrestler. Most everyone makes mistakes.
