What Caused the Maui Fires?
American Thinker ^ | 08/24/2023 | H. Sterling Burnett

It took Joe Biden nearly two weeks to visit Hawaii to offer in-person condolences and support to the survivors of the horrific Maui wildfire. He evidently felt his time was better spent avoiding questions about the Maui wildfire during a beach vacation.

It seems almost as an afterthought, Biden committed federal support to helping Maui recover, telling Hawaii’s governor, that the state would “have everything it needs from the federal government.”

On August 13, Green said that Maui’s destruction was due to climate change.

“That level of destruction, and a fire hurricane, something new to us in this age of global warming, was the ultimate reason that so many people perished.”

Green failed to explain how many lives the $100 million dollars he dedicated to fight climate change this year from the state’s budget surplus saved. In fact, it saved none, nor could it, because as even the mainstream media, after a few false starts, is now admitting, nature and human error, not climate change, is to blame for the desolation resulting from Maui’s wildfires.

The Hawaiian Islands have wet and dry seasons, and it is currently the dry season on Maui. Lahaina, the city suffering the brunt of the wildfire’s wrath, sits on the naturally drier side of the island due to the prevailing trade winds.

Fires require fuel, and big fires require large fuel loads. Maui had that in abundance, which allowed the wildfire to grow so quickly. This year’s dry season followed an unusually wet spring, which resulted in verdant growth of an invasive grass on the mountain slopes and valleys abutting Lahaina.

Rather than keeping the fast-growing Guinea grass in check by regular mowing, or better still, removing and replacing with fire-resistant native grasses and plants, the Hawaiian government has allowed Guinea grass to take over large areas of the islands, including the mountain slopes abutting Lahaina.

Abby Frazier, a climatologist at Clark University told ABC News that “[t]he main factor driving the fires involved the invasive grasses that cover huge parts of Hawaii, which are extremely flammable.”

Then there was Hurricane Dora, a category four storm that had recently passed Hawaii, delivering strong winds of up to 62 miles per hour that drove the fires, once started, down the slopes with amazing speed.

Hot dry conditions, check. A large load of dry fuel, check. High winds, check. Now you just need an ignition source.

What sparked the fire has yet to be definitively determined, but something started it and when it did, the conditions were ripe for the devastation reported daily.

Well then if this grass was ignited and caused this devastation, I would suggest the victims file a class action lawsuit , negligence for starters

The actual start of the fire was most likely an accident. However, I find it VERY DIFFICULT to believe that the government response was so totally INCOMPETANT. That level of incompetency would appear to be INTENTIONAL and DELIBERATE.

Mistakes happen, but when mistakes happen at the right time in the multiple locations with devastating results, it’s impossible to not believe this wasn’t a DELIBERATE act! Lack of proper forest/grassland management IS A DELIBERATE ACT.

Where’s the White House order for flags to fly at half mast honoring these fellow Americans? Have I missed something?

“Can you explain further”

Based on video, photos and other information it appears to be direct energy weapons fire (DEW)

DEW lasers work on frequencies. They aren’t like a pin point of light that cuts through things. They are a pure energy beam. Their frequency doesn’t have the same effect on the blue spectrum as say green or yellow. Hence the blue awnings, cars etc that were untouched by the fire including homes with blue roofs.

Another finger pointing at a DEW as the cause of the fire are aerial photos that show the entire town on fire at the same time in a tight formation. That’s not how fires burn. They burn with the prevailing winds. So if you have say 80mph northerly wind the fire is going to burn from north to south and keep moving along with the wind.

All I can say is it doesn’t look normal.

There are reports that the US cyber surveillance center on Maui sustained a huge cyber attack shortly before the fire started. I don’t know if that’s true or not.

Bottom line, you believe it was deliberate arson?

From what I’ve seen and heard yes it was a black hat operation. Maybe to cover up the attack on the space force site if indeed that happened. Who knows? There is so much stuff going on its hard to keep up. The fire certainly looks abnormal.

“That level of destruction, and a fire hurricane, something new to us in this age of global warming, was the ultimate reason that so many people perished.”

Utter ignorance on display - intense fire is known to create its own wind to propagate more. Add in the wind from Dora that you note & the ignition source ID is the only part of the formula that remains unclear.

Sad day for Hawaii. A sad day for America but we elected the clowns who did this to us. We are to blame for being asleep at the switch. We gave the Democrats the power because they had better marketing, better TV commercials, slicker advertisements. We closed our eyes to corruption. So we are to blame. But no one thought it could get this bad. I fear its going to get worse before people wake up. Biden’s performance showed me why Hawaiians hate white people.
