Disney closes at lowest in nearly nine years as investors turn bearish

Shares of Walt Disney fell 3.9% on Thursday, closing at their lowest level in nearly nine years, with some investors betting that a further price drop is on the cards in the next few months.

Disney stockholders are scrutinizing the company's turnaround plan after chief Bob Iger earlier this month promised a mix of price hikes across its streaming properties, more ads and cost cuts to lift the business.

On Thursday, Disney options were busier than usual with some 321,000 contracts traded, or 1.4 times the average daily volume, according to data from options analytics firm Trade Alert.

Trading sentiment leaned toward bearish bets with put options that would guard against the stock slipping below 80 by mid-September and mid-October, and were among the most actively traded contracts.

Put options convey the right to sell shares at a fixed price in the future. Disney's stock was also dragged by weakness in the broader market as investors turned cautious ahead of U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's speech later this week.

One Disney executive boasted about her “not-at-all-secret gay agenda” and efforts at “adding queerness to” children’s programming, in leaked audio published by investigative journalist Chris Rufo on Tuesday.

“Our leadership over there has been so welcoming to my, like, not-at-all-secret gay agenda,” said Latoya Raveneau, an executive producer for Disney Television Animation. “I was just, wherever I could, just basically adding queerness … No one would stop me and no one was trying to stop me.”

Side note: As I’ve mentioned previously, my mother passed away last fall (almost one year ago). One thing we found on her book shelf was the book, “Little Black Sambo”. It was an old book, probably published in the 50s or 60s when my sisters and I were youngsters. Another sister chose it on her “round” of picking from the shelf.

I chose my grandmother’s wooden bread bowl (which had been handed down from her mother) in that round. The wooden bowl had been setting on that shelf for several years and used as a book end for the old books on the shelf. I remember my grandmother making biscuits using that old handmade wooden bowl. I think I got the better deal and have already made a note and included it with the bowl describing its history.

Since Disney has been well aware for several years of the objection of parents in regards to the company's movie Trans-GIBLET promotions, I delight in their dropping stock price.

For even after being confronted by the objections to GIBLETS promotion in all their productions, they have been upfront about it being deliberate and a part of their plan to promote sexual deviancy in children.

My constant prayer is that their stock price continues to go lower.
