The US Constitution means little to an immoral society. We have no shared values or common goals with the ‘Progressives’. There was a time when compromise was in order. Each gave a little, but it was the progressives that kept coming back for the other half until there is nothing left.

That’s why states’ rights were supposed to prevail; the Constitution was so designed to protect those. But then the communists came along and stated their plan:

Such people were the catalyst for the demoralization of the American populace, using all media, and later the schools and abuse of public offices, never mind several amendments to the Constitution that weakened it further (the 16th Amendment for example implemented the second plank of communism, “A heavy progressive or graduated income tax”).
