I have mixed feelings about this. If it can be proven that this guy actively participated in even one murder, then prosecute him. I don’t care how old he is. And I don’t care if he was “only following orders”.
But if it can only be proven that he was present at the camp, that’s a far different story.
A few years ago, the German Government changed the law about Concentration Camp guards, now all they need to show is that this person had assigned duty at a concentration camp and he’s guilty by association.
Many people don’t accept the “we don’t care if he was just following orders” argument.
So what “orders” are we instead supposed to follow? Our Christian conscience?
We know the state of present-day Christianity in Europe, as well as the state of Christian education and the formation of Christian morality in Europe these days - it basically doesn’t exist.
What do we say to the next generation of prison camp guards under the present socialist/statist/NATO clique?
I don’t have an answer - just riffing on present trends into the future
