Maybe the Ukrainian Generals know something that our bureaucrats don't know. Anyone who believes that those "vast minefields" planted by the Russians aren't also covered by literally THOUSANDS of artillery guns hasn't got enough brain cells committed to Russian war doctrine to rub two of them together. There AIN'T no "pushing through" them, they'll get blown to kingdom come if they try. Call it "Operation Haig1916."

They know all that, but they also cannot otherwise figure out a way to make substantial progress...and so Human Waves, here we come. The question is whether Ukraine has enough ‘humans’ left to make progress in de-mining.
