Maybe to get Odessa and shore up what they have and make what’s left a buffer.

But yeah, there was never an indication Russia wanted the entire country of Ukraine. It was *always* supposed to be a buffer.

But people like Victoria Nulan and the Bidens happened.

But 300 years of Russian history happened. Your wrong. Putin is an empire building irredentist and has always wanted all of Ukraine. He has said as much himself. But carry on with Nuland and her cookies fairy tales if you wish.

Ukraine still existing is all the victory Ukrainians need. Sad to see American conservatives demean their heroic fight to not be slaves of the Moscow Kremlin again. Reagan taught us better. Much better.

LOL, it sure seems that way. He basically says that the West ‘learned their lesson’ as to being militarily prepared, yet I have seen NO EVIDENCE of it, at least in the US. I agree that our preparations for WW3 were totally PATHETIC, but what has the Leftists or Neocons learned? I cannot find anything at all to that effect.

Why would you rewrite a post to create a fake post that you can talk about?

NATO has obviously received a “startling wake-up call militarily” not your fake quote of “the West ‘learned their lesson’ “.

Why create fake posts instead of just reading the real ones?

Post 38 was a simple, straightforward, and accurate post that should not have resulted in so much petty snide emotionalism, and double-teaming personal attacks.

I like reading articles like that, Russia’s invasion is having a very positive result for NATO, standardization, increased production, and adopting a strategy of holding larger ammo/weapon stocks are all greatly important improvements that were being ignored 19 months ago.

I guess the difference between us is that I FULLY UNDERSTAND the mindset of the people now running the West. 20+ years ago, I would have agreed with you, as we had TOTALLY DIFFERENT people running the West...but they’re long gone, and just the DEI crap at West Point should make it obvious to most people, but I guess not everyone.

I don’t know why you keep insisting on ignoring what I said and keep responding to what you pretend was said so that you can keep repeating what you always post, over and over.

This is undeniable.

Not hard to convince people there was a “Stab in the back” when you occupy a quarter of France and surrender unconditionally.

“There is probably a vast difference between American storage and Soviet storage.”

Yeah, the American storage is like the Strategic Petroleum Reserve - empty.

It’s incredible to read some of the stuff here, you’d think we’re in a WW2 production mode and we cannot even make ball bearings anymore! As it is, I’m through with this thread!

“...we cannot even make ball bearings anymore! “

WTF ? Really ?

I looked at forging presses because I could see that it was the choke point for artillery shell production.

I guess if you don’t make the machinery, you don’t need ball bearing production either.

Well, that's another issue. Countries are allowed to make agreements. What are we going to invade countries that make agreements we don't like?

Cuba, Bay of Pigs Invasion, 1961? The Monroe Doctrine? Put a threat near our border and it is our written national policy to do something about it.

The New York Times ran a story showing just how badly our condition has deteriorated...yet not a word of concern from the Leftists running the country, instead they continue to empty out the arsenals that Reagan left for them (and as they empty them out, they cannot understand why Amazon doesn’t sell 155mm shells).

Yes, and they outsourced the industrial base, so the ability to convert to wartime production does not exist.

I’ve known there was a problem for a long time, but I was focused on the supply of critical materials. The Pentagon has a similar list, but it is focused on exotic metals etc.

Looking at Germany in WW2, my assessment was a country needs oil supply, grain supply and steel supply for sustainability in a peer war.

But that example is misleading for the USA. Germany had a huge industrial base, but was dependent on critical raw material imports to feed that base.

The USA is different. Easily self sufficient in grains and oil. If it could magically increase steel production to cover imports, it would still have huge problems because the rest of the manufacturing base no longer exists.

These NeoCons think they are going to take on China. It is a complete joke.

Unless I’m confusing him with someone else, isn’t NorseViking saying he is Russian?

Either way, that is one outlier. It is not mainstream thought here except among NATO and Uke shills. They are screaming how dire it is that Russia be fought in Ukraine or they will invade Poland and even Germany.

Nice try sport.
