And Charlotte to the Tennessee border is mostly uphill then Steep Mountains (Blue Ridge) once on I-40 which means heavy draw on the battery.

My son-in-law rented a tesla once to come here for a visit.
It’s a really nice car, roomy inside, fast as hell. But I would never own one.
Biggest drawback, for me, is 100% of everything inside done on a giant ipad. Even the stupid ac vents are operated via navigating on a big screen. Forget that.
When he nailed it, you could see the miles of range go away. He was constantly searching for a fast charger. He found one on a turnpike rest stop. So we drove to the turnpike so he could fast charge it. Then hung out at the rest stop while it charged for 20 minutes. Not my kinda lifestyle. The people at those fast chargers are those that think they’re better than you. Pfft. Screw that.
Now, go make me a sandwich.

We had a back up coming back into Atlanta several weeks ago from our rural compound. There’s a million Teslas in Atlanta. We saw a couple of them running up the emergency lane trying to get to an exit ramp. I’m sure they were running out of battery life.

Reading these comments should be great encouragement to those not sure they want an EV. Maybe someone should print up a list to post for all the problems an EV creates that are not existent with normal vehicles.
