I thought for sure this was going to be the Babylon Bee. Seriously. Just crazy.
FED overtime law starts AFTER 40 hours have been WORKED.
4 10’s 5 8’S or a combination of other hours.
HIGHLY SKILLED is a joke.
IF they were highly skilled-—they would have their own companies.
Get a pay raise, and work 20% less hours. How will they produce more in 32 hours to cover the higher pay?
Layoffs is how, they just don’t realize that, they never do.
A 40% pay hike? What are they - Federal employees? Jeeze.
CRAPPY Cars will cost $100-$200k..................
WHO NEEDS A ‘TAXPAYER’ WHEN YOU CAN PRINT MONEY AD INFINITUM?............
40%???!!!!!
They won’t be happy until they force the big 3 to offshore all their jobs overseas.
Will end up being another Lee Iacocca Chrysler Bankruptcy type bailout for the “big three”. But much larger than the $1.5 billion in federally backed loans. Lets see how long this goes on. Keep an eye on the Teamsters.....
The only sacrifice I can think of is paying their union dues which then go directly into Democrat campaign funds.
$1.something billion in 2022......
I served a 15 years sentence in Detroit as a Tier One supplier to GM and Ford.
Not for nothing do the salaried engineers refer to UAW as standing for United Against Work.
Been there, seen that, burned the t-shirt.
Of course he will imagine all the illegals they would have to hire to work 3 days 3 shifts and welfare.
The $35.00 an hour slackers get more pay less work hours.
Who doesn’t want more socialism /s
Management is now 1. Planning more off-shoring, 2. Talking to Swiss and other automating-machine manufacturers.
End result: fewer Union jobs in the USA.
I will continue to buy cars NOT made in the USA.
WOW!
It sure takes b*lls to demand such super-high raises (with reduced work production)
and on top of what are already above-average wages
no wonder the car companies have been sending more and more of the work to foreign factories
this looks like another USA industry about to have to shut down
Why do I have to feeling that us taxpayers are going to get hosed for this?
Because that’s what ALWAYS happens. Look, I actually am a conservative that supports manufacturing and manufacturing unions. I think that the POTUS needs to stay away from these disputes. When past POTUS’s have been involved it always ended up outsourcing US jobs and production. Then, the Unions pensions go belly up and the taxpayers are the ones that bail them out.
The fix, IMHO, is Tariff of products to the tune to cover the shortfall in tax revenue the year before in government spending. 1 trillion of Tarrifs raise up the prices of foreign products enough to give domestic auto manufacturers a chance.
Is this the new way to stop people from buying cars altogether? Priced so high no one can afford to buy them.
Buy them on time? Payments will only be $3,500 a month. Course insurance will go up too so another $1,200 a month.
Because pickup trucks at $70,000 a pop aren’t priced high enough.....
Is Biden getting kickbacks from foreign automakers?
These demands will raise the prices of automobiles made in UAW infested plants forcing people to turn to the cheaper vehicles made in plants not infested by the UAW. Those plants are in right-to-work states and in foreign countries.
I have been around UAW members a number of times and they were absolutely clueless about cause and effect. It was management is out to screw us and we have to get as much as we can when we hold the strike gun to their heads. The attitude that drove hostess bakery into bankruptcy is ubiquitous with them. Think if the company CEO gets a raise that means the thousands of worker are owed one. Not should get one, they are owed one. Between the fascist CAFE standards and this contract the cost of car will be out of reach for most.
Double the work force and run 7 days a week. Doubles the union dues and funds to the dnc
