I know that the criticism was meant for the OP... but I wanted to add my own rambling diatribe.
China is our country's leading adversary. The hundreds of $Billions currently being squandered in Ukraine is child's play. It is a distraction that has been created by NATO and US leadership for their own mostly malevolent purposes. Russia has not been a true threat to anyone other than their former satellites for years.
China's leadership has and will continue to be a true threat until the core of their old guard finally dies out. I hadn't thought about this much for a few years since one of my best friends was picked up for a second time smuggling biblical materials into China. It was a little touch and go for awhile with him, but they finally did let him go.
My wife and I have another close friend who was born in China and goes back to visit frequently. He reports that the Chinese propaganda system largely designed by our very own big tech oligarchs such as Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Larry Page, and Sergey Brin is extremely effective. The vast majority of Chinese believe all sorts of outlandish tales about Americans and America. Anyone who doesn't believe that Chinese leadership is currently a true external threat to the future of our country is unaware of what is going on.
The weird thing is that China is also the United States leading trading partner. How this situation is reconciled in a rational manner is beyond me. People on this forum spend countless hours worrying the future of Ukraine and the need to continue pouring $Billion after $Billion more taxpayer dollars into that corrupt rat hole of our own creation with the goal of harassing Russia.
This is all while China is the one who continues to buy off Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, Mitch, Linda Graham and countless others. I don't know where this is all headed, but without historically unprecedented push back this is not going to end well...
I am not alone in owning a huge collection of Chinese tools, electronic gizmos, clothing and just about everything else. And as I have said earlier in this thread I have even eliminated the middleman and bought a lot of Chinese stuff direct from China. Is that worse than buying it from Walmart or Harbor Freight? Does it ease your conscience to have someone else actually import Chinese goods for you? I don't know. This all continues to evolve. When I was a kid Japanese goods were considered to be crap, then there was India and South Korea... and it just keeps on going.
