Perhaps Joe should end the $7500 EV subsidies the EU is complaining about and make income earned in factories up to $60,000/year 1040 tax exempt.

... a couple of points that I have not heard from any media:

Joe (and his puppeteers) apparently cannot connect the dots between profits and the advancement of EV research. No profits, no EVs.

I did hear this mentioned once: when the UAW started planning the new contract negotiations they were targeting about a 10-15% wage increase. Since BuydenNomics have pushed inflation thru the roof, the UAW doubled the increase.

So indeed foolish economic policy has far reaching negative results.

Who owns the companies? Are employees now considered owners?

Employees are “stakeholders”, a code word communists use to insert non-owners into controlling decisions.

Agreed. My recent 2023 Chevy Silverado RST was $72K! That’s about as much as my first house years ago!

Some starving artists would like to have a chat with Hunter.

Some federal clerks will be stopping by the White House to collect ‘fair share’ money from an overpaid fool.

Workers on the line make as much as, if not more, than a degreed engineer.

I think the Union’s strategy is going to be a rolling strike, rather than an all-out strike everywhere.

The car companies will continue to make cars but at a much slower rate, which will hurt the company and lower the pain for the union.

I would not be surprised to see the 3 plants shut down now, go back to work in a couple of weeks, followed by parts factories shutting down, creating part shortages which will slow down the manufacturing process.

It will be interesting to see if this goes on for an extended time, if management gets fed up with a series of rolling strikes and locks all the employees out, making the union workers feel the full impact of the strike.

Why doesn’t mail-in ballots Biden demand that U.S. automakers reinvest profits into their companies?

Maybe then they could deliver better and more reliable products their customers. That would probably result in them having more customers which means more income and more tax revenues.

Oh wait, taxes are now primarily used as a punishment for the productive class. The “big money” is created by the Federal Reserve’s printing press.

“Fairly”...does this idiot know what fairly is;

It is WORKING TO ACHIEVE THE GOAL OF COMFORT AND FREEDOM.

My Family is a plethora of success. There are so many family members of whom I am proud...THROUGH HARD WORK AND CLEAN LIVING.

The Left should try it sometimes.

Top that off, the EVs might have expensive warranty problems because they are loaded with new, unproven parts.

Go to YouTube and search “the 5600.00 dollar tail light”. Water gets into the lens and corrodes the light. Because the f350 truck is a rolling computer with a million interconnected modules rather than a copper harnessed truck, codes start flying and other modules start malfunctioning until the truck itself won’t start at all. The 5600.00 is an absolutely legit and unavoidable price. Mind boggling! I have an 02 f350 and there’s no way I’d replace it with new. That fifty six hundred for the tail light would cover the cost of a new crate engine for the 02!

What I have read, GM made like 3 billion last year. But the UAW demands like 100 billions. (well for 4 years and 3 automakers, but that still like 10 billion for GM only).

Basically, big three would be bankrupt very fast.

Anyway, they also must fulfil Bidens “clean energy” requirements, those will bankrupt them anyway!

Your statement is not all that far off. When you look at hourly rate, head to head the “engineer” is slightly ahead. The real kicker is OVERTIME and BENEFITS.

I had relatives in UAW, /spit/ who would tell about how they all gamed overtime. It was not uncommon to get a 40-60% “bonus” EVERY OTHER YEAR. Almost like it was planned out wink wink.

Don’t forget cops and firefighters game overtime in last few years before retirement to goose their retirement pay which is usually based on high 3-5yrs.

SCREW UNIONS

As an old man, I can provide testimony about the ramblings of old men. There is a tendency among all of them to bring forward thoughts that are no longer valid. They tend to overemphasize what was rather than what currently is. Some go on and on and on completely unaware of the fact that their listeners are being king by not interrupting

As I associate with those younger, I bite my tongue to not relate something that was but now isn’t.

Ford Stock is only $12 or so. The market has noted that Ford stock is really not worth a damn

For decades, GM established a significant presence in Dayton, Ohio, employing thousands of individuals and catalyzing the growth of numerous satellite industries to support its manufacturing operations. However, one fateful day, GM departed from the city, leaving much of its infrastructure deserted. Remarkably, despite the abandoned facilities, many residents continue to drive GM vehicles throughout town, seemingly oblivious to the company’s departure. It’s a testament to the human capacity for short memories.
