On Saturday, as RedState reported, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer was ambushed and shot in the head while sitting in his patrol car, stopped at a traffic light just down the street from the Palmdale station house. Deputy Clinkunbroomer ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Following the shooting, Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna gave a press conference in which he shared his belief that it had been a targeted shooting and asked for the public's assistance in identifying and locating the suspect(s).
It is now being reported that an arrest has been made regarding the shooting.
Sources close to the investigation revealed to Fox News on Monday morning that an arrest has been made this morning. Another source told Fox News that a person of interest was identified Sunday and then taken into custody by the sheriff department's Special Enforcement Bureau tactical team.
Police last night announced a reward of $250,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case.
No further details regarding the individual taken into custody have been released at this time.
A press conference has been set for 10:30 AM at the sheriff's station.
As this is a developing story, RedState will provide further updates as they become available.

Looking like this was random, not personal, towards the deputy. The suspect was probably ID’d for the reward by a relative which I believe was over 200k.
Too bad CA no longer has the death penalty.

Same thing happened at Virginia Tech many years ago. Then the Shooter walked down the sidewalk before offing himself. Completely random.

He had apparently been detained a year and a half ago for something(They dont say of course) and was eventually released

Obviously not very bright, only took them about 24 hours to ID and have the suspect in custody. I think the reward sealed his fate.

The schmuck didnt want to surrender to the cops..he barricaded himself in his house for hours til they threw in some smoke bombs which made him come out and surrender..so the prick valued his own life he didnt want to die. They said during the press conference that yesterday some community members came up to them telling them who the perp is..who knows maybe some family members who recognized the car
It’s also possible the suspect shot his mouth off and started bragging about the event to others. Considering how fast they had him in custody, I would not be surprised.
