The Minneapolis Police Department is suffering from historically low staffing shortages as they deal with the lowest level of uniformed personnel in four decades, according to the Star Tribune.
The city’s department has just 585 sworn officers and out of 22 cities, it has the lowest ratio of officers to population, the Tribune reported.
The Minneapolis police department has also leaned on other law enforcement partners as well as civilian analysts to help out with some of their work.
Over the past few years, Minneapolis has experienced the worst of the police staffing shortages in the US.
“This is absolutely not sustainable,” Minneapolis police Chief Brian O’Hara told the outlet. “Thank God for all these other agencies that are filling this gap.”

It’s not the riots so much as the political leadership. When the local mayor, council, and DA all are on a “police are evil” political joyride, who in their right mind would want to be a cop in that environment? Especially when any decent cops can easily get jobs in more cop-friendly locales.
this is also part of the lefts plan — make the situation so bad so that good people wont want to become cops.
just like they are doing to the military and many other institutions.
it’s not that hard to get a militarized force with no morals or values to do all sorts of terrible things.....

“Other recommendations include mandatory annual mental health screenings; returning the responsibility of discipline and termination back to the mayor rather than the police chief; and tougher eligibility requirements for field training officers by adding a definition of what a “good standing” officer means.”
yeah, that’s gonna make a lot more folks to want to sign up as police officers ... you know, to take the place of even MORE officers resigning because of those new burdens ...

The guys at PowerLine Blog live in the Minneapolis and frequently write about the socialist pathologies there. I did a lot of business trips to Minneapolis in the 80s and it was a great place back then. They had a peaceful, law-abiding city with a small police force.
It is “Exhibit A” in radical leftist destruction (tied with Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, etc).
I expect primarily muslims will be hired and they will go out and murder as many white women with blond hair as they can.
