The 1st Amendment
does protect gun
shows, as in the "the freedom of assembly."
When they raise the issue of the (mythical) "gun show loophole," what they're really aiming to abridge is your RIGHT TO PEACEABLY ASSEMBLE.
Not a single tenet of law changes under the rubric of a "gun show." Nothing goes on there that can't happen with equal lawfulness in your living room or in the parking lot of the local Home Depot. What gun shows do (that gets the "Anti's" knickers in a twist) is give firearm merchants and enthusiasts a time and place to gather in strength so they may engage in 100% lawful commerce.
