Am I old fashioned for thinking personal phones should be banned for school use? For true emergencies, get someone to let you use a school phone.
Giving the students leave to be an all-seeing eye living for web-hits means they have that much less attention for learning. You can’t do two or three things at the same time.
Getting harder and harder to get teachers and police to work in minority areas….I would never work in those areas

A good friend of mine, a 9th grade teacher, was similarly hurt by a student. My friend was knocked unconscious, and was taken to a hospital by ambulance. I turned on the local news that evening to see if the incident would be reported.
By golly, it did make the news. A school district spokesman said that a teacher was walking down a hallway. She slipped, fell, and hurt herself.
Just another sad example of how school districts put public relations first. Everything else (including staff and student safety) is secondary at best.
Scholars? Hardly the descriptive term I would use when "inmates", "psychos", or "degenerates" would be much more honest.

The screaming and anger in that room was otherworldly. This is an absolute disgrace. These out of control and seriously violent teens need to be in jail or reform school. NOT in the public school system. We as a society have lost our minds. The imperfectability of man is perennial. It’s what we do to protect lawfulness that changes. We are now doing nothing and are at the mercy of pure evil. It’s everywhere. That poor teacher just standing there with no means whatsoever to control the situation or protect herself. She should have immediately left the room and locked the door behind her, and called 911. If there was no resource officer available to intervene.
We need better survivor training for teachers in war zones.

Clearly a case for chair control. All chairs must be registered and chair users must be licensed.
