ATLANTA — Scott Hall, one of the 18 defendants charged along with former President Donald Trump for allegedly interfering with the 2020 presidential election results in Georgia, pleaded guilty to the charges against him Friday.

Hall is the first defendant to enter a plea in the case.

Under the terms of an agreement with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis's office, Hall pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit election fraud, conspiracy to commit computer theft, conspiracy to commit computer trespass, conspiracy to commit computer invasion of privacy, and conspiracy to defraud the state.

Under the terms of the deal, he's being sentenced to five years probation, and agreed to "testify truthfully in this case and all further proceedings."

Hall, 59, is a bail bondsman who was hit with charges relating to a voting system breach in Georgia’s Coffee County in early 2021. He was also the first of the 19 defendants charged in the case to surrender last month.

My blocker won’t let me read this, but I looked at a couple related pieces, and I gather he was trying to examine the voting machines to look for evidence that they had been tampered with. (?)

Rudy has real financial problems over this situation, even though Trump was part of a fundraiser for him, he’s still millions in the hole in legal bills, he could be looking at cutting his loses and realizing jail for someone his age is not a thing he wants to consider, he could decide to roll over and talk, especially if gets an offer that only includes probation.

Which in turn automatically makes Trump guilty.

As soon as I saw the title, I said to myself: He’ll get probation. He just has to agree to lie (oops, I mean testify) in upcoming cases.

Then I read the excerpt. I was right.

Same thing I thought. Nobody is going to plead guilty to this bullsh*t unless all punishment gets tossed.

Corrupt idiot DA wanted to make a deal so it looks like she has some momentum. She used a nobody for political optics.

Didn’t General Michael Flynn plead guilty?

Yes. His sentencing was deferred for a year while he cooperated with the Special Counsel re: the Russia investigation. Then he changed his plea and stated he didn't know it was a crime to lie to the FBI. Then there was a bunch of legal back and forth that ultimately didn't matter when President Trump pardoned him.

Fanni Ellis is going to want some really big scalps in this case, Trump being the biggest, but others like Guiliani may be to big to take a plea from, she may want to convict him as well as Trump.

She should worry about making it through this flirtation with totalitarianism.

She's trying to light the world on fire with a match.

He will probably perjure himself again (can’t afford a lawyer) but he will skate. This is Atlanta.

The American judicial system is utter garbage. I've come to believe that whenever it gets something right it's an accident.

The Judges and Lawyers need to be going to jail.

She’s already got one conviction from a person that has to testify against Trump, she’s following same tactic nearly every prosecutor follows, get the lower-level people to take a plea, give them a deal to testify and work your way up the ladder until you get to Trump.

I don’t know why he pleaded guilty, but it’s not good for Trump and the other defendants. It is good for Fanni Willis.

I guess they spooked one of them. The sad thing is the Fibbies don’t even have to waterboard them. They wet their pants as soon as the Fibby boyz and gurlz flash a badge at them.

So Trump hires a bail bondsman to hack computers to change the election. oh no conspired. SO Trump called this bail bondsman and told him to hack the election? wow. If it is that easy for a bail bondsman to hack, i wonder if you can find someone who can actually do computer work to do it.

then Trump left standing alone.

Look, I know you hate the guy with every fiber of your being, but if you could tone down how much you want this guy to suffer, that would be great.
