I live in suburban Boston just fifty yards from the Boston Marathon’s route. On Marathon Day many of us go to the route to watch the runners. When the “elite” men come by the leaders are always East Africans who are about 4’ 6” and weigh about 80 pounds. It’s gotta be at least partially genetic...maybe even largely genetic.

I’d say genetics is number one by far.
