The implementation of vaccine mandates at one of the largest institutions in the red state of Texas has raised concerns over the diminishing state of health freedom while a law that would provide Texans with vaccine choice remains stalled by lawmakers.
The Baylor College of Medicine (BCM), a medical school and research center in Houston, Texas, announced last week that it will mandate the latest COVID booster shot for its students, faculty, and employees.
“An updated Covid vaccine has been approved by the FDA and is now available," the Sept. 28 statement from the school reads. "A single dose is recommended for individuals 6 months and older. Because protection from prior vaccination fades over time and this updated vaccine better matches the currently circulating strains the updated dose is recommended. Baylor faculty, staff, and students must get the COVID vaccine, or request a medical, religious, or personal exemption by Nov. 30.”

The Governor ought to include blocking mandated shots at public institutions in the upcoming education related special session. I believe.

One has to wonder how a medical school could be eager to mandate a drug that has had no human testing and was produced in a matter of weeks. Who wants to go to a healthcare provider who thinks like that? Doesn’t give me any confidence.

If more than the applicable five or two months have passed for the respective vaccines, then the individual must have also received a COVID-19 booster to be considered up to date or “completely vaccinated.”

Shedding docs and nurses.
No, thanks.

The Governor of Texas, and the state legislature, should tell Baylor to pound sand.

Is Baylor a private university? If not - if it's accepting state funds - why hasn't the TX legislature passed legislation banning such mandates in TX public schools?
To: AnotherUnixGeek
According to Wikipedia, “Baylor University is a private Baptist Christian research university,” so I guess they can do this. Masks aren’t mandated (yet).

They allow football players to rape coeds apparently, too. And allow men to play on their womens basketball team.

New poll reported by Brookings (leftist) site:
According to Gallup, 40% of Republicans “don’t plan” to get vaccinated, versus 26% of Independents and just 3% of Democrats.
In response to a more sharply worded polling question, 23% of Republicans report that they will “definitely not” get vaccinated, compared to 11% of Independents and just 4% of Democrats.
