They should have settled for visiting Portland, Michigan, instead. Just a short drive from Grand Rapids. They would have saved a lot of gas money.
Doubtful they were armed. Situational awareness score——ZERO! Regardless of where you are going, take care of your business and stay alert.
We were in Portland for five days in 2018, and we swore that we would never go back. We stayed in a VRBO, which was nice enough, but the neighborhood was so bad that we kept getting up in the night to check if my husband’s new truck was still there.
Why would any sane person vacation in Portland?
Are they Insane, Stupid of Democrats(Which Covers Insane and Stupid)
Downtown Detroit is a War Zone.
How did they NOT KNOW that Portland was the epicenter for antifa? Did they not see the “summer of love” it inspired?
Democrats in charge !!!
Yes, my dream destination. 🙄
I think this was a case of premeditated ignorance. Nothing could have been more obvious in the last couple years that places like San Francisco and Portland have been completely trashed. Probably even now they really don’t get it.
Well known that thieves target cars with out-of-state license plates. And rental cars. It’s a big problem in San Francisco, broken glass at the curb is evident daily. My daughter and son-in-law were visiting us from Iowa, got a rental car and wanted to explore SF. Windows busted out, and my granddaughter’s backpacks were stolen. On later visits here, I lent my crewcab truck to them rather than getting a rental, and there were no more problems with them driving into the city.
Masks and jab only parties help me to avoid those with the liberal leprocy.
People in Northern California are conservative (areas north of the SF Bay Area, no where near SF). Once you cross over into Oregon, it's a different story (coastal side, again different in eastern Oregon).
After years of denigrating the police, wouldn't only the most feebleminded want to join?
Many years ago I was traveling cross country and managed to break the drivers side window of my car. Probably 10 miles outside of Broken Water Pump, South Dakota.
Seems like things were easier when I was younger. I found the first glass shop in the nearest town, they had a window for a Chevy and I was on my way quick, if a little poorer. Took a couple hours, tops.
I was born and raised in Portland. Moved to Arizona in 1985 but would return to visit family for years after that. The city had gone way downhill by the mid-90s, and I think the last time I was there was around 2005. My 50th HS reunion was in 2022; no way was I going.
All my family is dead or moved away now, so I’ll probably never see Portland again. It was a really nice place in the 60s and 70s, even much of the 80s, but no more.
In the 1980’s we were leaving Portland after a race. Leaving early to get on the road, we stopped with the rig at the 1st opportunity, a small gas station. We started fueling and a guy runs over to tell about no self service, crew chief said “where are your fire extinguishers” to which the crew whipped out ours. Next “where is your Nomex suit?” To which the crew whipped out ours…. Fuel station attendant just turned around and walked away..
You are likely correct. The one individual was all “Gee I don’t know what happened.”.
Hopefully this becomes a lesson to them about how much they are lied to by omission by the legacy media.
