Here's my take....Joe would lie, cheat and steal for his son. If he can make his son rich with the "Do you know who my dad is?" dealings....nothing would make Joe happier. Joe doesn't need the money...it's the use of his position that matters to him.

And any interaction with Hunter's "business" friends is all Joe cares about...."make my son rich"...I'll be happy....now what can I do for you?
